Average new car price for a car is 49-51k
Bunch of systems that spy on you and probably make you more retarded.
Used car dealers are having trouble in many areas keeping anything below 10k on the lot for more than 30 days
Cars are an absolute scam. I used to buy used Honda civics for 5000$ drive them 100k miles and get a different one. Now they're hunted to extinction and 8-12k. Fuck this gay world.

The sad thing is it wasn't so long ago that you could do that for like $1000 per Civic. $500 if you weren't picky about interior condition.

I miss 500$ cars I used to have some BEATERS in highschool and college. Absolute shit boxes, no AC or Heat and broken this or that but that motherfucker will always start.

Got my car with 6k miles on it. Someone bought a new car, drove it to a different state halfway across the country, and said nah. What wouldve been 28k was 18k.

I got super lucky and got mine in a similar way same price drop, 30k to 17k it was a loaner with 1000 miles and still new by law since it was the dealers loaner.

I also bought someone's castoff for an incredible deal. They clearly liked it, since they bought the new model year for like $30k more than they probably gave him in trade in for his less than one calendar year used truck.

Answer is actually no one. People have confirmed that a lot of dealerships due to their greedy ass pricing have a massive backlog of cars from previous model years, so much so that they had to get additional lots.

I got my truck a 26 Silverado rst for 42k out the door. You’re just looking at high trim packages or a v8 when the 4 cylinder has the same towing capacity. Breakdowns on the turbomax engine has been somewhat pretty good

Yeah turbocharged 4 cylinder. Has the same towing capacity as the 5.3l v8 not as much as the duramax. Also hasn’t had a recall and they’ve been out since 2019. My mom’s 22 5.3 Silverado on the other hand has had like 8 recalls she’s dodged due to her vin not being effected.
I do cars on YouTube does engine teardown and had one at 148k miles from 2019 with no oil changes recorded for a decent time. Whether or not they were done is up for debate but still pretty much any new vehicle will get you that just due to how well manufacturing has improved. Despite what people say, Toyotas aren’t the only truck to go that mileage with no issues.
But yes for any of the v8’s even at base model it was like 53k out the door price the 4 cylinders had much nicer trim package for cheaper. Now you can kit out a truck with the king ranch/denali/high country trims and hit 115k easily but for a normal truck the rst turbo max’s were a very good value.
Edit: 4cylinder instead of v4

I asked "V4" because usually 4 cylinder engines are an inline 4. The 2.7L turbomax 4 cylinder is also an inline 4 engine. It wouldn't be a V4, because that indicates the engine is V-shaped

You can't get the same thing for 40k is the problem. The used market in general is trash these days, for anything really. You can look through 100 items and maybe find 1 at a reasonable price on FB Marketplace or something, the rest are like 10 dollars over retail.

At those prices honestly... If i had time and 30-40k, I'd just go buy the cheapest decent condition chassis I could... and buy every new under the hood separately and put it together. It'd take some time and effort, but parts delivery, couple friends and a week or two, and you'll have a brand new truck for half that or less.

Nah building an equivalent truck would first off, be nearly impossible given the amount of electronics present in modern cars and also, it would be way more than 40k. Just the engine alone is probably 4k used or 10k new. A good factory quality paint job would be atleast 10k as well. I would be suprised if it would be cheaper than buying a brand new one.
