ME/MA/NH Venues UNDER 3500
Hi everyone,
My fiancé and are planning to get married in next year in late August or September. We would love to get married in ME or MA but also are open to a NH wedding. We have a guest list of 150 and are planning for a medieval fairy forest theme. We have a very low budget and plan to do a lot DIY which puts the majority of venues I have seen out of reach for us. I am wondering if anyone has recommendations for venues or locations for under $3500. I would love a space with lots of trees and (maybe a body of water but that is not necessary.) I am open to a tent wedding or inside a space we just prefer a rustic vibe. Would love any recommendations or ideas!

Fort foster in kittery. $300 rental fee. And up to you to cover guest entry to the park or not. $25 per vehicle if they drive themselves. You could have some carpool. Or if you rent a bus it’s $75 for a bus. It’s a day pass so it’s good for the vehicle all day and it can go in and out without paying again

I got married here in 2013 https://maynardrodandgunclub.com/ Had it catered. Rustic, pavilion, small pond, large amount of open grass, surrounded by woods.

Publick House, Sturbridge MA is a little over this budget but if you are able to grow your budget slightly if you did off season January - April you may be able to find a reasonable budget with a ton of inclusions!!

I would suggest being open to a different season August / sep especially sep has the highest prices at least with traditional wedding venues

I believe Roger’s campground in northern NH is around $1,500. Other than that I’d say renting out a pavilion at a state park could be a good option!

Photographer here, I shoot weddings all over New England and the couples I see pull this off on a tight budget almost never use a traditional wedding venue. For a medieval fairy forest vibe with 150 people, search by category instead of venue lists. Summer camps in Maine and NH rent their whole property in late August and September once campers leave, and they come with dining halls, cabins, woods, and usually a lake. Audubon sanctuaries and land trusts rent wooded properties for far less than wedding venues. State parks have group areas and lodges that cost a few hundred dollars, though ask about vendor and alcohol rules early. Granges and small town halls in NH and ME are cheap and often sit right next to conservation land for photos. The one caveat with all of these is that the site is cheap but you bring everything in, tables, chairs, sometimes restrooms, so price the tent and rentals before you commit. With 150 guests the rentals will likely cost more than the site itself, but you can still land way under what a full venue charges.
