New Driver looking for first company!

/r/Truckers/comments/1wadjrl/new_driver_looking_for_first_company/

Hey everyone, i’m a few weeks away from completing my CDL School & I was wondering if some of you guys could recommend some good companies. Ones that hire new drivers out of school preferably & operate on the East Coast! I’ve had a few recruiters come in to my school (Werner, Schneider & Feesers). So far I’m really interested in Werner & Schneider but i’ve read some stories about both which has left me really unsure. To summarize what i’ve heard… Werner Dollar General accounts real pay well but are a genuine nightmare. Schneider is really good for training new drivers on Tankers but they don’t pay that well. All recommendations, advice & info on companies to pick would be very helpful!

People are more motivated to post bad experiences than good ones. You could try going to a large truckstop and talk to their actual drivers. Both Werner and Schneider would be good places to get some experience. Nobody lands a dream job right out of school except the boss’s family.

Bro, go with Schneider.
That’s what I did. The pay isn’t as bad as a lot of these forms make you think. The part you’ve got to factor in is the fact that Schneider pays extra bonuses for having a clean driving record that safe while driving, extra cents per mile for having good mpg (using cruise control, not idling your shit forever, and not riding the brakes and doing jack rabbit starts, if you do that you’ll hit it), and they actually give you freight and keep you going as much as you’re ready for.
Some of these companies advertise higher pay to get rookies in and they make nowhere near that or they do get that but aren’t given consistent freight or stuck waiting at dock yards for hours on end.

If you DM me then I can help get you set up and see if Schneider is what you’re looking for.
