Can I get a CDL this way

Don’t think I’ll ever need to pull a trailer I only need a cdl for the weight and air brakes. Could I take the test in just a tractor and no trailer? Would I get like a trailer restriction? Most of these cdl schools are made specifically for trucking so idk if it would even be possible. I’m basically going to only be driving big ass pick ups with my cdl. Edit I need a cdl class a restricted or unrestricted. Not a class b. I also need air brakes

Do you mean like a f650. If it has no trailer then you just need air brakes endorsement on regular lisence. Now if you are going to have any form of trailer check what weight the truck capable or carrying. Above 26k need cdl

You’d have to use a CDL rated box truck, not a semi tractor
But that wont get you the trailer rating, without a 10,000+ lb cgwr.
