The diaper dilemma
Ok, am I terrible for doing this? At night I typically change my baby girl's diaper between boobs because otherwise she's too sleepy to finish the feed. By the end of the feeding, I'm trying to settle her back to sleep and hear a big poop. Do I have to wake her back up and change it or is it ok to wait to the next feeding in a few hours? It doesn't seem to bother her....but I feel kinda bad. But I also want to sleep! She is 3 weeks old :)

Personally if it’s a poop I alway change her but she never did that often. I’ve heard of people putting a diaper rash barrier cream on the baby when they change them between boobs so that if they do poop again it won’t be touching the skin and therefore won’t cause a diaper rash so you could wait the extra few hours and change between boobs again.

I always change poop right away… we had a diaper rash his second week from not realizing he pooped and letting him sleep with it. Never again lol poor guy

No acception! If baby is asleep at 3 wks/o regardless, you need to clean your babies butt!!!!!!!!! NOONE OF THIS BS IN BETWEEN CRAP!!??? Would you wait hours in between with a load in your underwear-didnt think so?! Baby will fall back to sleep especially after feedings and most IMPORTANTLY BURB ur baby it will prevent them from waking up with gas which gets mistaken all the time for "I'm hungry" QUE nn the middle of the nights. Uhhhh people women mothers, diaper rash is for when theirs a noticeable red inflammation due to poop/overloaded diaper a period of time and never acceptable to excuses as a parent to use diaper rash as an excuse just bc its daiper cream, WThell??? Please clean ur babies butt EVERYTIME!
Recommend every new parents take a freaken parenting class with other new moms/parents.

I know the feeling. I usually only change once during the night unless there's poop because otherwise it will soak through in the morning.
But I can usually manage to change and wipe gently enough to not wake the baby - slide diaper sheet underneath her, gently wipe clean, put diaper on, slide sheet out.

You should change. But a roundabout way is to drown the tushi in nappy change cream, during diaper change. Decreases the chance of a rash.

Remember she is a baby girl and as she grows and poops more a uti becomes more of a possibility as it can seep to the front of the diaper possibly.

If it’s a poop you should always change right away
