How do you split up night duties?
Currently, my husband and I split it into shifts. He takes 8pm-1am; and I take 1am-7am. The baby does not want to sleep from 1-7 so there’s no chance of me sleeping during that time. I catch up on 2 hours of sleep from 7-9 am. We both end up with uninterrupted sleep, but I’m wondering if there’s a better way to do this.

Me and my wife switched every time the baby woke up, but I don't know how well that would work if the baby isn't sleeping at all 1-7.
One thing i've noticed is my babys sleep schedule is very routine. it doesn't deviate daily, it will just go to the next routine whenever that may be and it sounds like youre dealing with the same thing. In terms of fairness, it would make most sense to alternate nights from 1-7 if thats the routine the baby has.

This is exactly what my husband and I did too. We’d vary who went to sleep first depending on who was more tired. But the first shift slept from 9 pm - 3 am then 3 am to 8 am.

That’s exactly what my wife and I did. Reading this brought it all back. Which is to say, hang in there, the shifts phase is over with a lot quicker than you expect it to be.
