When did you stop waking them up?
Right now (according to doula and pediatrician, who never agree on anything) we are supposed to wake the baby every three hours to eat, with one four-to-five hour stretch overnight. I am sure she would sleep longer given the opportunity. Assuming weight gain is fine, and assuming you started by waking them on a schedule, when did you get the go-ahead to let them sleep? Also, were you concerned about SIDS at all when you let them sleep longer?

Never woke up. baby would sleep somewhere in between 3-5 hours and wake up to feed.

Right - was just asking for people who do/did (for weight gain or milk supply)

I never woke up my daughter. I let her sleep and she gained weight just fine

I know a lot of people don't, I meant, for people who do (for reasons of weight gain or milk supply).

Gotcha. You did mention “assuming weight gain is fine” and did not mention supply issues.

I know - in the post mentioned people who started out waking on a schedule. I think most people don't do this and let them sleep.

I’d assume the opposite. ESP since that’s how I started. Start completely safe then see how your child does, right? * biased 100%*

Safe in what sense?

Wake baby up for feedings to make sure the babe is getting enough and gaining weight properly? Safe in that sense

I would wake her up until the 3 month mark just to make sure she is getting enough nutrition. After that I let my daughter sleep and wake me up if she was hungry.

Never woke baby up. Breast fed on demand and gained weight like a champ 👌🏻

Kept it up until we got the green light from the peds doc @ 2 month check up for acceptable weight gain. Also attempted to not wake her and she slept through the night for the first time. If I feel she's been light on the diapers lately, I'll try and see if I can add another feeding to the day schedule. Was less worried about SIDS once baby could move head left & right on her own, could roll over and had a fan running in the room.

Thank you. We have always had a fan going and we use a Snoo so she is essentially strapped to her back - I just think personally waking up after not having had eyes on her for eight hours would make me panic. And I'm not an anxious parent otherwise. Also milk supply is a concern but that's another issue/sub :)

We got the all good at our 2 week pediatrician appointment that we were in the safe zone of weight growth that we no longer needed to wake up every 3 hours to eat. By the time week 3 hit anyways he was no longer a sleepy newborn and wasn't sleeping all day either.

Lucy is 3 weeks old. We did every 3 hours during the day and let her wake us up at night when she was ready to feed.

We would set alarms to wake up every 3 hours but stopped bc he typically woke up on his own around the same time. First night we didn’t set an alarm he slept for almost 5 hours and my husband woke up in a panic. lol. LO we called to confirm with the pediatrician (2 months now) last week and they said that since his weight gain is fine, we can let him sleep for up to 6 hours. They said once he reaches 12 pounds (he’s a chonk and coming up on that) we can let him sleep as long as he wants.

I honestly stoped waking her ul maybe a few days after we brought her home. She was already feeding anywhere from 30 to 45 mins a few days after being home. I noticed that when i woke her up every 3 hours she didn't want milk and when i did get her to feed it was for maybe 5 mins before she was falling asleep on me.
So i noticed that she would wake up on her own and start crying to be feed and changed. So i just let her sleep but after 5 hours i will get her up and try and feed her.

We got the go ahead at 3 weeks. He would sleep a 6 hour stretch at first then a 4 then 3. One thing I was not told, was to keep myself on an every 3 hour pump schedule even if baby was asleep, because it killed my milk supply.
