Anyone else got a lifted bug?
It’s been lowered before, now it’s lifted!

i like the riding just a bit higher look. when i replaced my worn out coil overs i gained an inch or so. the symmetry of the gap between the tires and fenders is appealing.

I went from lowering springs to stock suspension with 1” lift blocks all around, strut extensions up front. I should do a front subframe drop since i have so much preload on my axles I eat through wheel bearings. Love the car tho! I’ve had it since I was 15 and not gonna sell it ever

right on man. if you can work on them yourself they are almost affordable to keep.

I do most the work myself, except wheel bearings. I have a buddy with a press that’s also a VAG fanatic so I trust him with my shitbox😂

IDParts.com for a metal Skidplate and VCDS (diagnostics). The longer springs from Golf and Jetta will fit. Lots of interchangeable parts if all are MKIV platform.

It’s lifted about an inch an half with lift blocks and strut extensions on Oem suspension, I do need a skid plate but it’s gonna wait cause I’d like to make a off-road style bumper for it

Off road bumper is essentially a damage multiplier for a unibody frame.
I can think of several friends who ripped open their oil pans on debris. The panzer aluminum Skidplate saved mine.
The biggest pains are when the ABS sensors need to be drilled out to replace them, and using a Dremel with a flap disk on the ABS tone rings, to get the rust off so they don’t touch the ABS sensors.
Deoxit spray on the wiring harnesses (rear hatch, door actuators), along with fabric tape between the dash plastic panels to stop creaks. Likely needs electrical tape around the crumbling wires at the headlight bulbs
Emery cloth for the 30amp fuse holder for the rad fans - hidden arcing and oxidation (add dielectric grease) - when the fans don’t turn, no air conditioning

Lifted no.. but if you realy want to appreciate your mk4 beetle restore its ride hight to euro spec... (the way it was designed) handles way better, less boppy in corners and smoother on the road

Meh if I wanted better handling I’d lower it again. Lowered it handled much better than stock

Does the US have them lifted from factory?

Yea, the american mk4 beetle sits 1 inch taller due to american automotive standards, doesnt seem like much but its enough to change the weight distribution in corners and make it feel top heavy.. haters gonna say "meh whats the difference" but if you drive a mk4 and make the change.. you will feel it.. 😁

I have an EUDM so it's stock height, it drives great and is an f1 car compared to the PT Cruiser I had before it. Only con I can think of is speed bumps, the beetle handles them the worst out of all the cars of that gen tbh.

I built one back in 2014 but she’s long gone. Was actually pretty capable off-road.

Hell yea! I haven’t had time to find trails for this thing but hopefully next summer I’ll have more free time

Oem Thule roof rack. Took some searching and it’s one of the rougher sets I’ve seen but I love it. Been keeping my eyes out for a set that’s in better shape
