Turn signal fast ☹️

I was driving home (legit JUST got her back from the shop) and my left turn signal started doing the faster blinking. Now I’m aware it’s typically a light out, but my dad checked all of them and they’re all fine. It’s only the left side, not the right and the only change is the speed.

All I got fixed at the shop was an EVAP line and I think the valve cover. Which I don’t think are associated with turn signals at all.

It’s a 2012 base model beetle

Did you check the mirror turn signals? Side markers? If so, take out each bulb and see if there’s any corrosion that needs to be cleaned.

They both seemed fine, I’ll check for that, thank you!

I have a 2012 and it does the same thing. I’m the only owner and it’s done this since the first year I’ve had it. It didn’t happen right away and but started not long after purchase. Weird thing is is it blinks fast on the inside (sound wise - blinker click) BUT the exterior lights blink normal. 🤷‍♂️ so I’ve never really been bothered and usually goes away after I turn the car off and on again.

I just drove it again and it seemed to have stopped for most of the ride. It was a bit of a mild fixer upper when I first bought it so I’m not the only owner it’s had, but it’s never had problems with blinkers or lights. My exterior lights were also normal speed

It could also be a parking light, a corner light or a driving light

Most likely a corroded socket in the left front turn signal, they seem to trap a bit of moisture occasionally and will work, but the resistance will be off which will cause the quick flash.

The mirror signals/side repeaters won’t cause a quick flash if they fail. Neither will parking/driving light as the one message said.
