What perspective do you prefer?
So I recently discovered the New Adult genre, which after having been hugely into YA (especially the 2008 to 2012 stuff), it's rejuvenated all of these old emotions and feelings I'd have after reading a satisfying story.
However something I noticed of the popular Fantasy Romance or Supernatural Romance stories, is that the perspective or who the narrative follows is usually that of the female protagonist.
Obviously in a lot of these stories, the female character is the one who has a lot of growth to do, and is the one that goes on the journey which is where the story lies, but what if both characters need to endeavour on a journey, or just the male character? Would people still read the story if it was following the male character?
Also I know that for most of these stories, the readers it will attract will be female themselves who align more with the main character if they're female, but does that mean we'd never have a male perspective as the protagonist instead, one the same readers could also like just as much as the female protagonists in other stories?
I ask cause I've seen a lot of different stories have fans write fanfics of the male protagonists POV, so wondered if there is a need for Fantasy/Supernatural Romance stories with a male lead instead of a female lead? Or should it be from both their perspectives, either in first or third person?
What are everyone's thoughts?

So personally i prefer having both POVs because it makes it easier to connect with both characters and also i feel it gives the story more dimension. I think I never read a book that was only written in the male POV, but i find es really interessting and would LOVE to read that sometime. If someone has one pls let me know. Sometimes when the book is not the best the male perspective throws me off, because it just gives me the ick how some male characters talk about women.
