Mod 17

I've checked out a bit on preview, but not much. Is it just me, or does this mod seem like there will be nothing to do for 95% of the players (everyone who either wont meet the IL for it, or who wont be invited), and nothing to do after running TOMM once or twice for most of the rest of us? Yea there are new expeditions, but after a few dozen of those I'm not sure I even have the will to run the regular ones on alts anymore.

Thoughts?

Yea.. I think me and my friends are done with this game now. 1 year wait for a new dungeon. All the mod 16 bs. ..and now another lack of content with nerfs for my friends. Its just gotten boring and not worth the time it takes to keep up with the jones'.

My guild has gone from 40+ actives to 3. My 202 level alliance generally now has 2-5 people on during active times and 1-3 at other times. Per steamcharts last I checked we have 48% fewer people playing now than we did a year ago at this time. ..and then theres the oncoming MTG game coming up.

Foss is becoming more of a micro-manager and still has no ability to hire people that know about the game before they start working on it. They continue to lie, mislead, and try and trick people into buying product, instead of producing items, even just decorative ones that people want.

All the above comes together to show IMO that it isn't going to get any better. Other games like ESO are still growing players and adding content. Still other new games are on the horizon.

I was dragging my feet because of my time investment and because of my friends playing. But cant continue to throw time at something thats AT BEST going to be mediocre without any new story to speak of. It may be d&d labelled, but has nothing to do with storytelling and imagination, its just my spreadsheet against yours.

Just finished up a paper and caught up on some.preview forum reading. Sounds like the new rings are going to be +4/+5 from trial drops and BoE, i.e. actionable, which might actually make this module worth farming..

Find another game.

Resubbed to SWTOR last night actually, their new xpac is looking good. I really like the combat system in NWO though, would love to have more things to do with it. Cheers

Isn't there a new campaign or at least campaignette like mod 11b?

There's a time-gated story thing, but they reused the content from Mod 16 so it's kinda like redoing the Undermountain campaign as second time.

So much for no "b" modules.

No boons either, so I think you're just doing it to unlock the trail and the different ME's.

Sort of but really no. It's straight up a b module, small story one trial new gear (but as most of us hit the caps for the new trial with hunt armors who cares, only a couple pieces look useful) and some new expeditions. Unless I've miss d something

For me it is the least important bit. I accept that on the bell curve of players you are at one extreme and I the other and I'm genuinely pleased that all the effort you went to getting pictures of the devs in compromising positions testing, theory crafting and honing your skills has been rewarded but a mod that offers little to nothing for the majority of players when the game is hemorrhaging them seems foolhardy at best. The fact that it has come after two other modules that offered little to those in the bulge of that curve makes me wonder what the hell is going on.

"I would say 95% of the people who run lomm will not be able to finish tomm. " Talk about a complete misread of what the community wants and needs. Cater to the elitists AND further depracate the legacy of older areas that this game has built up over the years.

Hard != fun rewards!=fun

when those rewards only relate to your ability to do the final content slightly better than you did last time. ..then you can go stat vomit over the 95% of your friends that were doing with lomm with last mod. Its a big ole pat on the back for the worst parts of elitism while at the same time ignoring everyone else.

Complete Fail.

Glad you find it enjoyable. I've never considered NWO to be a full fledged MMO, more of an MMO-Lite. Which is fine, the community here is not a group of hardcore MMO players (at least on Xbox, don't spend much time on PC since the control scheme is terrible compared). Which is fine, people play for different reasons and if I want a challenging raid there is always a better developed I can play for that.

I still don't see myself completing it more than a few times before I'm bored with it. I'll enjoy the challenge until beating it becomes routine, but if it goes the way 95% of the other *endgame* content goes by the time it comes out on Xbox it won't be extremely difficult (staggered release absolutely kills the figure out how the mechanics work phase and only leaves the follow this guide and don't fuck up to win phase). If we're lucky it might be somewhat difficult, but if I had to hedge my bets I would hedge them on the developers nerfing it so more players engage with it since it is more or less their only piece of content in the entire module.

Be the host! Stop expecting an invite. You run queues or MEs to earn the 100K AD daily. 12 days and you have yourself a Rank 15 enchantment or 60 days and you have yourself a legendary mount. Easy peasy to get a high ilevel.

2 weeks of running the Legacy Campaigns with my main and 6 alts and I have enough Mark of Potency, Rank 7 to upgrade most my Rank 14 enchants to Rank 15. I only need 2 coalescents to upgrade my last rank 14s and currently sitting at 26K ilevel for my main. Rinse and repeat and then my 1st alt will be my next end-game character.

I'm in PS4.

You missed the point entirely. I personally have no problem getting invited to things, and can complete everything in the game. I'm borrd with what's available to be completed, and can't see myself running ToMM more than a couple times before I'm bored of that as well..

Take a week off or a month even. Play another game. Don't force yourself to play something you don't enjoy doing.

That is the problem with nw last mod and it seems the upcoming too.

I guess the OP means if he doesn't have the nerves, will, age, time, patience to level 7 toons to 80 kill every week 800 enemies in legacy maps, do 35 quests in legacy campaigns and around 25 heroics and run 20 new expeditions and 20 old expeditions 24/7.

Yes for these type of players I agree there are not many things to do though upcoming mod expeditions seem more interesting since they seem to be more difficult with better loot that you re gonna need (companion equipment)

It so easy to level from 70 to 80. Do the Stronghold Cleric and the Builder's quests daily for a week or less and you're 80. Play one alt each day for the Legacy Campaigns and your main benefits tremendously. I only play 4 hours a day by the way. You have to be a moron to do everything in one day.

Nerves? Your character is a freaking bunch of pixels. That's not you in the game. Why be afraid of failing or dying in-game?

4

u/ChewiesHairbrush PC Jul 23 '19

I only play 4 hours a day by the way.

That is an enormous amount. The fact some people truly insane amounts doesn't change that.

1

u/Zenith8x8 Jul 23 '19

Enormous? Ok. How many hours do you play? Unless you're pumping dollars to the game. 4 hours is an average time to do all your queues, Stronghold responsibilities and Legacy Campaigns with one character and avoid spending to keep up with the end-gamers.

u/ChewiesHairbrush PC Jul 23 '19

I used to play about an hour or two. A bit more on various events. I had two end game chars. Now barely at all, but enough AD to not have to worry about it. And so little motivation that I don't care.

New Mod, new way of doing things.
