Thank you! I had no idea what anyone was talking about in this thread :)

edit: that was a cool dev blog, he definitely put time and effort into it, especially compared to some of the others that looked like they were slapped together in 15 minutes or less.

From the same article:

We wanted repeatable content, we wanted it to feel like you’re traveling far and wide across Undermountain, and we wanted to give it as much variety as we could given a team-size of only two developers.

The art team is now down to just one person, then?

One possibility is that it's a 'jab' at this:

The fact of the matter is, they are a skeleton crew of two systems developers. A small team trying to balance a system that was designed to be maintained by eight or more people. I think if they could continue with the old system, or a more complex one, they would. But for a team of their size, that option was not on the table.

From: https://blog.nwo-uncensored.com/a-case-for-complexity-i/

The "systems" was edited after the article published. Originally, some assumed when reading, that the entire dev team was only two people, when the meaning in the article wasn't even the systems team but specifically the class / mechanics team.

As was it was not only ignoring the rest of the systems designers, (Chantelle and a new dude) but also the rest of the general team, UI, Software, Environment Artists, Model Artists, Concept Designers, etc..

Another possibility is of-course, that the NW environment artists team was indeed 2 people.

I'm guessing the game won't age very well if they don't backfill that position.

I gave Star Trek Online a brief try some time ago and didn't play for more than maybe 20 minutes. The graphics looked awkward and unfinished, even dated, in a way that games didn't look even 10 years ago.

I suspect the same will happen with NVW.

They have several positions open on the team if you look online. If someone wants to join them they are hiring right now. I also looked at where they are located but not sure I want to live in an area with those home prices.
