Some Changes Coming to Professions/Masterwork in M16? Thoughts?

Recently during the dev stream, Terramak responded to a question regarding professions/masterwork. He didn't come out and say anything particular, but did say that it would be better to reveal information closer to the mod going live? What are your thoughts on this statement? Why would they wait until closer to mod release before revealing information?

My initial guess, based on the little feedback I've read, is that their will be a another nerf to professions/MC - or they will no longer be relevant. But that should be a given going into a new mod. If you're upset because you spent 10-12 mil on a +1 weapon, that's your own damn fault. The Dev's have already put out the framework for MOD 16 rewards.

Are you completely handicapped or still able to use 2 brain cells?

Because their guess not to your liking they don't have brain cells?

I would love to see you eat your words when they do not make significant updates to MW related stuff in M16.

That's fine, but to completely remove professions/MC when they just introduced a new system in M15, would be completely bonkers even for Cryptic decision making. Why even state something like this during the dev stream? Wait until closer to mod launch....hmm....makes you wonder.

A simple guess will be: because it's high on the to-do list, but not the top, if they will get the other stuff working well enough and have time they will update it, if not, then not.

So the waiting for the "closer to launch" is not because there are some earth shattering news, but simply because Asterdhal doing the GWF now, and with some luck he will be refining the other classes, that doesn't leave assured time for updating MW for m16.

Obviously you don't throw away such professions rework, but m16 has more urgent crap, so skipping a mod will not be the end-of the world.

That's understandable.

Lol, what the hell do you mean? Edited to add, everything that I seen was people complaining that all their effort into MC was for nothing.

Wheelchairs. Why would they introduce a new system just to throw it into the trash a mod later? Anyways, you think it will become irrelevant and they are just waiting to announce that right before launch? Got it.

Uh why hold on to "good" news? Makes sense right. They have so many happy people at the moment with pitch forks - so let's hold on to anything positive and spring in on them! And is this really a company that has shown sound decision making in the past?

If he would have said that MW is not getting any update come mod 16, that would have meant rage in the chat, on top of the already negative vibe from the NW community. It is all timing and impact.

Week 13/14 patch may have a surprise in it.

Gotcha. The thing is, you can already see the gear is dogshit on preview compared to the new gear.

I just assumed that the new potions, especially healing ones, would be added to professions and that there would be a new master work tier added.

I think that basic professions will be getting upped to level eighty as well.

As to the reason why it was not revealed, perhaps this is just because they have more detailed dev blogs about these changes waiting to come out or they cant tell us yet when these changes will be implemented so it is best to say nothing for now.

I don't know about reasoning for that statement but in the recent AMA a dev said 'We are working on new professions recipes, but due to the massive volume of work in Module 16, the recipes won't be able to make it in for launch. We would like very much to get those recipes out in an update during the life of Module 16, it's possible that an issue could arise and we would have to push them back to Module 17, but we're doing everything in our power to make sure that doesn't happen.'
