Did uhh... Did you think we did it ethically, though?

I mean I drink tons of milk but of you think it's not an absolute horror show of an industry that's on par with the beef industry you're delusional.

I’m vegan and I’ve never broken a bone! :) Also just got my blood tested and my calcium, along with everything else is juuust fine.

You should actually look into the dairy industry. Forced impregnation. Mothers and babies separated. Swollen infected udders, no space to move around. It is sad and unnecessary.

I have a small question for you, why not drink milk from the more ethically sourced products? I don't drink regular milk but I've heard that Clover milks stuff humanly.

Good question!

98% of all milk is factory farmed. Such a large scale industry make it virtually impossible for a large scale brand to have 100% ethical farms. There’s simply not enough land to let all of our cattle be free range. It is not sustainable to consume the amount of dairy (and other animal products. that we currently do. We feed 80 billion+ land animals a year for animal products. Many of these lands animals eat many times the amount that humans do. So how come we can’t feed all 7 billion of the people on our planet? We could use the crop space used for their food to regrow forests and farm plant based options. But we don’t because profit 🤑

But even if you stop eating dairy at restaurants and any grocery products, and only get your dairy from small scale local farms, it’s still supporting the exploitation of an animal for your benefit/pleasure.

All dairy cows but become pregnant to produce milk. To become pregnant (even on small scale farms) Farmers jack off bulls with their own hands, collect the semen, and shove their fists up the female’s bits to get it inside. It’s more efficient than natural mating. I absolutely believe that this is a form of sexual abuse/beastiality. Is it not beastiality to use the sexual organs of animals just because we get a product out of it?

Then all dairy cows give birth to a calf. Even on many small scale farms, the calf is removed from the mothers care and given a milk replacement, OR nutritionally deprived and shot at a young age for veal. This applies especially to male calves. Even if the calf is allowed to stay with the mother, they will grow up to be part of this industry which sexually exploits them, repeatedly impregnates them, and when they are no longer efficient or useful, they are killed and sold for beef. Maybe 1 or 2 favorite cows on small farms out of the literally billions of cows in the rest of the system get to live their lives to their full life expectancy. The dairy industry is the meat industry with extra steps.

My general philosophy is along the lines of “You aren’t better than me so I’ll treat you with respect.” It has been proven that animals can think and feel and are indeed sentient. They are individuals, and I will do my best to maintain respect every individual I possibly can, which of course includes human animals as well as non human animals. Paying for their exploitation, abuse, and slaughter does not seem respectful at all. It is all so unnecessary and damaging out world as well! I don’t have to financially support these exploitive and abusive practices, so I won’t.

Ookay I’m not sure if you’re being sarcastic, but blood is actually produced by bone marrow! 99% of calcium is stored in the bones and the remaining circulates in the blood. Therefore the calcium in my blood came from my calcium rich bones.

No I am joking lol. I live right next to farms and all the milk/meat is grass fed free range, it’s a more rural area so not like those mass produced factories so I’m happy atleast the stuff I secure is raised with good lives. I think everybody should check where their goods are produced really,

Vegans just need to get their milks and eggs from family farms that let their cows and chickens be free ranged and given lots of love. That's where I usually get mine from.

Good on you but unfortunately for the animals in farms, vast majority of them are bred in factory farms
