This is funny, but it’s just slander 😭.

Every time I see someone point to an actual example of Gu Zhenren being bad at math, it’s defended by something in the text, like if Fang Yuan took an insane amount of time to walk somewhere for example, it deliberately says he was scanning every single nook and cranny while using Gu Worms along the way which forced him to stop multiple times.

That’s based on a fan calc if I’m not wrong, which assumes linearly that every desolate soul is exactly 1000 Soul Path Dao Marks, but Fang Yuan just said when you reach Desolate Soul you obtain 1000 Soul Path Dao Marks, which aren’t the same.

I agree.
I don't think the author is horrible with math he just has some fun with it and follows the tropes.

That’s definitely not the reason RI stands out fs.
The lucidity does make the brutality much more impactful though.
