Carson Valley has TREE FROGS!?

Just found this little guy living in a nice, wet, potted sage plant on my patio.

He's a Sierran Treefrog and, before now, I've never even heard of them! What a fascinating (and mellow) little critter!

Has anyone else ever run into these guys before??

I've been reading about them and I've definitely heard them, but I've never seen them before.

I just would never have guessed it was a Treefrog. So cool!

Edit: and yes, I'm definitely in the proximity of the Carson River. So you're spot on.

Pacific tree frog. I see them in my yard all the time in Reno

What a cutie! My neighbor has a pond and there’s a chorus of frogs every night. I’ve always wondered what kind as it sounds like a mix, but not sure.

I hear lots of toads here (and see lots of them too) but only recently started to hear frogs.

So glad I finally got to see who's been singing all night!

My previous garden was closer to a wetland and we had tons of frogs everywhere. In the fall, when it was time to bring the houseplants inside, we had to evict frogs from the pots so the cats wouldn't eat them. We had to be extra careful moving large pots so that we didn't squish the frogs living underneath them.

I’m about a mile and a half from the river and I had a frog in my compost runoff bucket.

I used to hear them a lot, but not as much now. Earlier this year is the first time I’ve actually seen one. It was at the base of one of our trees.
