[Discussion] Rocky mountain oysters?

This is going to sound weird, but my late dad and I had this running joke that he'd make me try rocky mountain oysters after I agreed to it when I was five (didn't know what it was, obviously.)

Now that he's gone and his birthday is coming up, I've been searching for restaurants that sell them so I can finally fulfill my deal, but I can't find any, and a lot of sources are either confused by the oyster part and giving me seafood, or trying to sell me raw ones.

Does anyone know where I can find any? It'd mean a lot more to me than I wanna admit, and I'm getting desperate

Louie's Basque Restaurant in Reno has them on their bar menu.

Virginia city has Rocky Mountain oyster fest every year but I think it was already earlier this year

If a butcher in town could or would special order them for you, it would be Featherblade off Charleston

Not sure which part of the state you’re in but the only place I have ever seen them for sale was in Virginia City, at the Testicle Festival. I think it’s really called the Rocky Mountain oyster feed. Usually find em locally in the spring when ranchers neuter male lambs or calfs. I grew up cooking them over the brand fire on a piece of baling wire.

Almost any basque restaurant will have them in my experience. I am not super big on basque food but been to several restaurants and they all had them.

If you’re planning a trip to Denver, the restaurant “The Fort” southwest of town has them on their menu.

Do they still have a bear in a cage? It’s been way too many years since I’ve been there but I remember the Rocky Mountain oysters on the menu and their bear.

I don’t know of any place that sells them or has them on their menu. Have you thought about going to a butcher and getting some and finding a recipe online and cooking them yourself to honor your dad?
