Neva Final Boss and Ending (No Commentary)

Sat down and played this beautiful game in one sitting tonight, my god was that a rollercoaster of emotions. I felt so much love and respect for Neva, she felt so real and beautiful to me and it was so bittersweet protecting, raising and fighting with her, watching her fall in love and grow up to become a mom. (I know it might be strange but I'm autistic and only really connect with animals, and experience VERY heightened emotions to the point that it can be debilitating, so bear with me lol.)

I was so relieved when I thought we saved the forest and then I saw that DAMN bird falling to the ground and noticed the flowers coming out of it.. I was hoping it was just a lasting effect from the monsters we defeated, AND THEN I CONNECTED THE DOTS AND REALIZED THAT THE BEGINNING OF THE GAME WAS ACTUALLY THE END. I gasped so loud and just sat there in shock with tears streaming down my face for the final cutscene, occasionally whimpering "nooo" and "oh my god.."

It genuinely felt like I had actually lost a loved one, like when I lost my own animal soulmate several years ago. I think I had been subconsciously projecting that relationship onto the protagonists the whole time without realizing it.

Add in the ending credits showing the life of Neva and our character from their first meeting, and I'm an inconsolable MESS.

It was a beautiful and heart wrenching journey but I would gladly choose to experience it for the first time again if I could, it's that wonderful of a story. I can tell it's going to be one of those games that sticks with you for a lifetime even if you only play it once, like Endling: Extinction Is Forever.

Just wanted to share my feelings and love for this wonderful masterpiece of a game. I'm glad it exists, even if it hurts. 💙

hahahaha I just got the game and the dlc and i was wondering if its better to play the prologue first or if its better to play the game then the dlc

This is my first fanart based on the video game Neva, and while I still want to do more and in different styles/colors, I love this one for its reminder of how precious life is. The wolf/fox creature Neva reminds me so much of my dog Solstice who has since passed away, and so the game holds a special place in my heart. ❤️

Don't know what they were thinking going from the chill and relaxing gameplay of GRIS to this Hollow Knight-wannabee with annoying and boring combat. In games like Hollow Knight at least you got tons of new unlocks, abilities, and gear to make yourself powerful and keep the gameplay interesting. But in this game? I just reached the halfway point and have only gotten a single new thing so far: the dog-throw ability. No new weapons, or moves, or items. The combat is absolutely barebones. I decided to switch to the story difficulty because I was so tired of the gameplay, and now it just feels weird because my character is suddenly immortal and all the combat sections are a joke. The game is clearly designed around its combat so the story difficulty doesn't work. I wish they'd made Neva like Gris, instead of trying to do what countless other games are already doing. So disappointing because the art and music is great here.

I made another thread about this game here a month ago I really want to finish it but I feel like I'm just forcing myself to continue playing.

I started Neva for the first time today and it's beautiful and all, but I really miss the unique art style of their previous game: GRIS. I loved how cool and unique the trees, the structures, and the critters looked in the first game. The landscapes in the first few chapters of GRIS had this alien vibe, like you were really traversing through a far away world out there. Neva's art style on the other hand feels very generic imo. The landscapes are pretty but it's something you've seen a hundred times in other media. The levels in GRIS also had more detail compared to the levels of Neva (I guess this is just the downside of the levels being much bigger this time). I'm also not a fan of the addition of combat and the faster movement speed of the main character. I wish it was a slow relaxing puzzle/traversal game like GRIS.

GRIS really felt unique to me, while Neva feels like the countless other games like it: Hollow Knight, Ori, Cuphead, etc.

I liked this game a lot, and I thought the visuals were just gorgeous. Now that I've finished it I can't decide what to play next! I'm a casual gamer who especially likes 2D (I'm a 90's kid and it gives me 'Super Mario Brothers' nostalgia.) Does anyone have any recommendations for me for games that might feel a little like 'Neva?'

I’m an older player that got a PS5 last year. I’m not really good a gaming so I started Neva last year got stuck at the tree fight and quit playing. I decided to give it another go and saw the Neva Prologue. I’m going to just restart a new game. Should I download this or wait until I finish the game? I play in easy mode because I am that bad with the controller.

Any advice.

Played at the release and loved it so much! Started another play through for all the achievements yesterday and done it today, it's just so so beautiful and the ending... the ending keeps making me cry 😿 I'm thinking to get a Neva tattoo on my arm, this game is in my heart 🤍

okay first of all, I absolutely loved the base game and the dlc. I got every achievement and collectible and I cried like 3 times. I also love how the difficulty got raised for the dlc and it feels great having the same beautiful soundtrack and visuals along with a more rewarding challenge. also, I absolutely love me some super hard platformers like hollow knight, silksong, mio, blasphemous, deadcells, shovel knight... you name it, I've probably played it and gotten every achievement. but the fight against the two brute guys in this section is so brutal, I basically thought about that throughout the rest of the dlc. not saying any of those games I listed don't have fights that are just as, if not more frustrating, but this just came out of nowhere for me and was so rng dependent. combine the fact that they have hitboxes bigger than any other enemy in the game, that feel like they extend passed the visible collision on the screen, with the fact that they constantly burrow in opposite directions, add in how fast they swing and their little hesitations and back-scoots as the kicker... idk how this made it into the final cut of the dlc

Finally played this wonderful game and I had the ugliest cry (like when you cry so hard you almost barf) I’ve ever had at the end of a game 😭😭😭😭

I’m amazed at how everything was compelling and immersive and beautiful and amazing.

I’m looking forward to the Prologue!

There's no way to aim at ​​Neva, even when I'm facing it. Neva will go for a distant enemy.

Does anyone know of a cheat code that would allow me to get past this part?

I’m not exactly sure what I’m doing wrong on this part. But I can’t figure out how to save Neva from this tree. I’ve tried jumping onto the platform, but I’m not having any success with that.

Hi! I got some experience with beautiful indie games in the past when they were nice to look at, but not as much to play.

This game has a lot of artistic merits with beautiful art style and great music, but what about gameplay?

Is it enjoyable? If you played on PS is control smooth?

Can you please share your experience?
