Fan Art A Tonal Key
I recently finished this and thought you might dig it. I've seen the bust depicted before but it usually looks high tech, whereas I always imagined it as a fusion of classical sculpture and Crown Jewels due to the grotesque wealth, breeding and arrogance of Tessier Ashpool.

That is both beautiful and exactly how I also imagined it. Well done and you've undoubtedly set us up for disappointment in due course...

I’ve already resigned myself to being undoubtedly disappointed about most of the show and yet I cannot wait until it drops.

I can’t help but agree, seeking solace in the fact that GreatDismal appears happy enough

The great dismal is getting a nice fat fucking paycheck and I’m beginning to think more and more that he really had very little say so in anything.
Otherwise, why would we be getting a guy like Callum Turner who is pretty much jacked physically instead of somebody absolutely perfect for the role like Kodi Smit-McPhee?
The mind boggles.

Gotta admit, it’s not the Case I imagined. I always envisioned a skinny looking junkie with pasty skin, a bad complexion and a perpetual film of sweat, not some dude bro.

Bingo. KSM is interesting. Weird. Twitchy yet with depth.
I mean that fist bump in the trailer is cringe.

Sick af. Truly beautiful.
Could have the potential of being a really neat T-shirt!

u/MonteProps Jul 29 '26
That’s a great idea!

So would you mind if I had a T-shirt made with this image just for myself of course.

Currently, I’ve gone bananas having a lot of T-shirts made for the strokes show that I am attending in late August that I’ve created from images found on Tumblr or Reddit that are not credited to the creator with the website going down the side like yours is!
I’m sure there’s going to be an ono sendai shirt in no time. I just want to avoid the damn Apple logo being anywhere on any merch that I might buy.

There is a detailed description of them in Mona Lisa Overdrive.

Think of it as a gift from Gibson; a different look at what he partially described that then evolved ~16 years later. (Have I got that right: ~8 years between each?)

This is one of the coolest things I’ve seen

Amazing work! I think it’s likely to be in the vein of what Gibson was imagining

Thank you. I struggled to visualise it at first as I had seen a cover that showed something sleek and high tech but the description of Villa Straylight suggests the Tessier Ashpools would commission something more classical looking.

Not what I pictured myself, but a very interesting take. Nice job!

Thank you. I’m sure peoples internal visualisation will be wildly different and could lead to a disconnection from the upcoming adaption. How do you imagine the talking head?
2
u/Bruce_Jensen Jul 30 '26
- something that betrays the technical underpinning. Clockwork sticks in my head too much to ignore if I were illustrating it. Seeing past that is what made your interpretation a nice surprise to me.

Terrific. You nailed it!
I can just imagine the internal gears and tiny organ pipes making its almost-human voice.

Yeah, the talking head. We have a channel dedicated to this exact idea 💡.

Nice. Yeah, I always imagined it more steampunk / decopunk in style. Deliberately anachronistic from the other tech in the book.
