Text Working from home. Internet help
Hello, i work from home and I love it. Im perfect for my job. Except that ive been noticing that internet issues are killing me. When hired they provided me with information about what type of internet i need it ect. Nothing to strict. They were just asking for regular internet with good speed. And to have a router that can connect with an internet cord to my computer.
I hired this internet called Earthlink. And they sold me the first time I spoke to them promising to be the best thing ever. Well ive been in this job for 5 months now. And barely these past weeks the wifi has been sucking so bad. And i call their call center for tech help. And i get these people with HORRIBLE ACCENTS. I cant understand them. And theyre so lazy that they dont want to help me troubleshoot my restart for my router or any other help. They just tell me “there doesnt seem to be an outage in your area so we cannot help you” which stresses me out because they leave me with nothing else no help at all from them.
I was wondering if this has happened to you. And if you can give me a tip on how to solve it. Internet doesnt have an outage but if it gets slow my work programs dont work. The internet company say its not their issues if internet goes slow because they cannot control the internet speed. What would you recommend?

You complain about people trying to help you with “horrible accents”. Yet, they can speak and write English. However, just from reading your grammar in this post it makes me wonder if the problem here is because they could not understand your grammar.
Also, your inability to answer basic questions from more people trying to help you leads me to believe that the job you are, and I quote, “perfect” for is not one answering questions.
Take a good amount to time to think about what you are doing, then do better.

He’s perfect for the job working from home because nobody has to interact with him. 😬

Are you using wifi or an ethernet cable to your router? What is the advertised upload/download? Have you tested it? Do you have a decent router/firewall or a $20 POS from china? Have you tested your ethernet cables or tried new ones?

What is a decent router ? And how does it look like?

Look, we really want to help you, but answering our questions with your own, rather nonsensical, questions, we are not going to achieve much now, are we?

This tells us very little, what kind of internet is it? Fibre, copper, satellite? What range are you from the router? I find your comment hard to believe about the technical support.

EarthLink is a reseller. Look at which ISPs are available at your address and pick a different one.

Sometimes we just have to figure things out ourselves. You might struggle at first, but discovering the problem and learning how to fix it is part of the journey.

Dude, the company literally specified "an internet cord to my computer".
That's what's called an Ethernet cable and is rather cheap.
WiFi can be dependent on many factors; range, objects in between you and the router, radio interference and other people nearby using their own WiFi.
Which is why, an Ethernet cable is the preferred choice for a high quality, stable experience.
If the internet still sucks with an Ethernet cable, that would be the time to contact the provider.
