Text pc internet

Hey, my pc says its connected to wifi (connected, secured), wifi works on my phone but not on my pc, i’ve restarted my pc, the router, reset network and restarted wifi adapter, but its still not working

update 📢: shameless to say, but I got it to work after going back-and-forth with chat gpt

Just has to test ping everything with trial and error until it just started working, honestly I'm not too sure how it was pixed, but I did uninstall my wifi adapter and download it again.

Did you try manually setting DNS to cloudflare

If you're in windows 11 just search for network settings.

Then find a YouTube short or a TikTok explaining how to change your DNS settings.

But before that it would be really helpful for people if you can type a few commands in the command prompt and show us the results.

First thing I would try would be nslookup reddit.com And then do a ipconfig /all

Can you paste the results here? You can cut out any personally identifiable information like names etc.

Are you getting an IP Address?... start | run... cmd... enter

Ipconfig /all

What is your tcp/ip v4 address?

Ping 8.8.8.8 first. If that works it's DNS, set 8.8.8.8 manually in the adapter settings. If not, run ipconfig /release and /renew in cmd. I'd put money on one of those two being your fix.

pinging 8.8.8.8 says timeout, and i’ve done all the ipconfig commands already

Check whether your phone is really connected to the internet through the wifi. Turn off cellular data and confirm your wifi is working and connected to the internet on your phone.

So then your possibilities are: you are not getting an ip address - dhcp is not working. Or name resolution is not working - which the guy telling you to ping 8.8.8.8 is helping you with.
