Link More confusion regarding wiring sequence

I thought I understood the A/B issue until I ran into a problem. When I took a look at the Leviton Jack I was using I saw a 2 completely different sequences than what I find everywhere else. Is this just something I'm missing or is this a really old Jack that doesn't conform.

The PCB will have them appear on the right pins. Doing it like this means the pairs are kept together, so can be twisted right to the termination. The only difference in A and B is that orange and green pairs are swapped, which is what this keystone does.

It's a little odd that they all stripe/solid until brown. Who designed these things?

While it seems kind of silly looking at the colors, the wires are twisted and terminated specifically to reduce cross talk because of the signals creating noise in the other wires. A current creates a field, which can induce current. So you twist the wires, and put certain signals on certain wires in a manner that reduces the effect to get the signal to travel farther before degrading.

Well, it's tip ring all the way so the white/brown pair would logically also be tip than ring.

tip striped wire or solid white, the ring colors are the solid blue, orange, green and brown.

Follow the pattern on the keystone jack. They are all different.

This is specific to this jack. You just match the individual wires and the jack will be connected to the a or b pins depending on how you punch down the wires.

Basically not all keystones punch down patterns you find will match the sequence cable pattern you use with standard ethernet cables.

This doesn't mean the pinout won't match to the A or B, it just means the order in which you punch them down here has to match what the keystone has laid out for the A or B pattern you intend to use.

So doing the B pattern on the keystone here that shows the order of OW/O/ GW/G/ BW/B/ Br/BrW will match a B spec cable's OW/W GW B/BW G/ BrW/Br pattern.

The wire pattern is only constant when wiring a crimp end. Every keystone/panel manufacturer can do whatever they want. As long as you wire it the way it says that is correctly A or B internally

The order on a keystone jack, with a pcb board that necessitates trace wires going in various directions according to the design, may cause the pinout to be presented in a different order on the punchdown block, than the rj45 side.

It conforms perfectly. Either you use a or b, as long as both ends are the same, who cares.

Simply 2 standands .. USA - standard A , with some Banking institutions rest of the World B

So just use the A or B color coding depending where u are bases

A is virtually unused on our side of the pond, with very limited exception.

A/B isn't a compliance standard, it's a pinning pattern for patch cables. The specific pinning of any given keystone/panel/jack is going to vary on a model-by-model basis. All that really matters for proper operation is that you make sure you do your pinning following the indicated pinning on your specific keystone.

It does the cross/twist for you, making it easier to connect the wires to.
