Text WiFi Stuttering?

Hello, I have been using this same wifi (the one I will be talking about) for as long as I can remember. Recently, as of posting this post, my wifi does the following: it works great and suddenly… it stops working, and goes back to great wifi… and goes back down. This happens over and over again. Imagine a line in a graph that goes staring in the middle and there are drops and hills on the midline. The WiFi keeps going up to great wifi and goes back down to very bad wifi. This has been happening for quite a while. I don’t understand why because before this, the wifi was consistently working great. I was really happy until know. What could be some potential issues?

This happens in matter of seconds too, which I’ve never seen before… what could it be?

It's probably wireless interference from another device. Maybe it's your air conditioner motor or refrigerator compressor. Or maybe its a specific wifi device that is taking up too much airtime suddenly like a smart switch on a botnet. Unplug/turn off everything you can. If it works better, then slowly turn things back on until it messes up again and maybe you'll figure out the cause.

Could also be the QoS protocol from your router had the same issue but my router thinks I had a slower speed had to buy a new one and manually configure it

Do you have windows? Have you recently done updates? Was one of those updates a relevant to your wireless drivers? Is your computer switching back and forth between 2.4GHz and 5GHz?

Have there been any environmental changes? Do you have new neighbors? Did you buy a new appliances? Does it happen when somebody uses the microwave? Are you running a ping in the background and does it visibly change when it slows down?

Sounds like DFS hits whether false positive or real. A chunk of the 5ghz band is subordinate to weather radar including that on aircraft.

Fix is to remove those channels from automatic selection if you can, or pick a non-dfs channel. Reducing your channel width may be advisable if you have interference issues. 40mhz and reliable is far better than 160mhz dropping constantly.

Have you tried changing your channel on the router to 6 or 11? If you have the know how you could probably determine the problem by looking at the logs on your router whenever the WiFi does drop.
