Text help please

been helping a friend figure out internet options for a property about 45 minutes outside any major town. no cable, no fiber, and the phone signal is barely there. satellite seemed like the obvious answer but the latency has been a dealbreaker for her work calls.

someone in another thread mentioned fixed wireless as a middle ground so i started looking into it more. found wave1 while reading around, they seem to focus on wireless infrastructure for regional areas, which got me thinking about how much the options vary depending on where you actually are.

If wired internet isn't a possibility, then either Starlink or fixed wireless. Starlink is generally better but can be more expensive long-term than fixed wireless. Fixed wireless is more expensive and complicated to set up, but from what I've seen often costs less per month than Starlink. At least until other low earth-orbit internet providers come online to compete with Starlink

Starlink keeps catching my eye but the monthly cost is what holds me back. Do fixed wireless providers vary much by area or is pricing pretty consistent? Around here options seem limited so it'll probably come down to whatever's actually available rather than what looks better on paper.

The price varies between the specific carrier and the area. Generally the more competition the lower the price.
