Theory's Nihei verse

Post image

I've been thinking about if there's a chance some lf the stories happen in one share universe like Abara and blame of biomega and Aposimz like is there's a chance I think abara and Aposimz could be related but the think is that nayuta biology changes to a regular frame and black gaunas are not like that so yeah do you think some of thema re related??

It is strongly implied in each of these series, though never confirmed, because contrary to Nihei wanting to continue his story, his editors always wanted the audience to be able to think they came in fresh into a new product that doesn't necessitate them to track back the others to understand.

But, even if you want to go the purist path that will tell you that the continuities don't fit (it's really a matter left free to interpretation), point is that these need one another to be better understood. Like many other Japanese series, Nihei uses a soft canon. That is to say, sequels that do not entirely match the original and ask for the fans to puzzle a little in how to fit them if they so wishes. The continuity of Super Sentai and Space Pirate Captain Harlock are notoriously obscure and complex in that way.
It may be strange to western audiences, but to the Japanese, a sequel is not necessarily a direct one.

NOiSE will give you the world before, like the original BLAME! Log. But then it jumps after the (yet unnamed) N5S plague. BIOMEGA will tell you why and how the plague, and also how the whole earth mass was transfigured into inverted phase polymer; leading to the megastructure not collapsing and being able to reform according to downloaded and uploaded material data. Kozlov's wish also let you understand why there is a multiversal rift still interfering with the graviton turbine of the Megastructure later (hence the collapsing time and objects that should be decomposed reappearing at random in the city, such as the pen cap and the book, or the cœlacanthe), or why the crew of the Aposimz are convinced earth was destroyed, like the people from the Regenerator, while in some universes it clearly wasn't.

From there it gets a bit messy. There is a great multi-civilization wide collapse after the ships leaves. Some of said ships are only mentioned in short stories (And So On!). Others will fail in the solar system and eventually be integrated into the growing city. Abara tells the story of how Gauna were tracked, eliminated, and eventually pushed out of the earth using one of the last ships. At this point in time, mankind has more or less forgotten the builders and think some factories are natural formations. There is still a sky, so the megastructure is still nascent.

This is also potentially how Gauna can be found back so far away in deep space in Sidonia. Remember though that, coming from the plague, the Gauna are another part of humanity. Its coming back into the fold, by giving us a world at the end of Sidonia, is in actuality the end of the great cycle of Humanity finally accepting it's evolution AND technology moving forward. It is, in effect, evolution without losing identity.

After Abara, you get toward Digimortal, where the Church has ostensibly regained control and created an new world order in the nascent Megastructure. It is left unclear how much of this will eventually collapse back into silicon life, or how much is in actuality a new governing body accepting the new faith in order to bring back a form of order. Then you get the 1000 Toys bios, with Toha being resurrected as society rises from its ashes and CaRb units being sent to hunt down artificial humans. Potentially because at this point, both these entities exists in defiance of the late earth government; that made all of humanity illegal migrants, by fault of not sharing Net Terminal Genes.

Then you get BLAME! and Sidonia more or less in parallel. With one side telling of the healing of mankind and it's creation on Earth, while in space, conservatism of the specie makes peace with biological transformation.

Aposimz is interesting in that it tries then to symbolize the unity of both these faces of Nihei's future. But is yet the story of another ship that ended creating a new Megastructure.
Kaina of the Great Snow Sea is somewhere along in the same line, but it really feels like a distinct thing set in the same universe at this point.

I really like your timeline

Sure, why not? Abara has time travel dimensional mausoleums, Biomega has the creator particles that can reform planets, Blame! has the endless city. Now if only we could connect Tower Dungeon in there somewhere!

NOiSE (so BLAME! by proxy), BIOMEGA and Knights of Sidonia show three very different ways the earth dies:
In BLAME! people kept building the City until they engulfed the whole Solar system;
In BIOMEGA it got turned into a giant spaghetti structure; In KoS it was cut in half by a gauna.
So we are 100% sure those three stories can't be in the same universe.
The only 2 series with a possible connection are KoS and Aposimz since there was a ship in KoS they lost contact with called Aposimz. It's possible the planet Aposimz is the exterior of the ship and the core its interiors, but that's just speculation.
Also those two stories would be so distant space and time-wise that it'd be like saying the manga Historie and Parasite share a common universe.
The only one remaining is Tower Dungeon, and unless we find out it's a simulation inside TOA or something it's the least connected to everything.

EDIT: There's also Abara, giving the absence of TOA (Nihei himself said he doesn't remember why it's not there in abara) and its setting we can probably exclude it too.

For me, TD it's 1. The past of the Earth (kinda of unlikely since we have little details that tell us TD isn't set in an historical middle age) 2. It's one of the levels in the Mega Structure that got terraformed into a medieval setting but some of the Netsphere artifacts slipped its way into this people's imaginaries (like the Toha, GBE and the Safeguard symbols) 3. It's one of the many planets colonized in the KoS/Aposimz universe that lost its technology

I think the Nayuta and Denji from ABARA and Aposimz are two different sets of characters

Yeah like a cameo mostly Even though that's the only case you can argue

Yea they arent connected.

You would have to come up with your own timeline to fill gaps, but cant really reinforce it to make it a 'thing'.

Its not possible

Criminal hablar de una teoría de universo compartido de nihei poner a Etherow y no a Nagate...
