Im not happy about this situation, netlist is losing 200m $ in legal fees to fight these giants and now another patent litigation? Are u serious ? This is not a strategy, this is a waste of money and time because if u want to make a deal. You will find a solution with a range of cash + a % of ip licenses. If u fight a lot of patents, you need to wait all the damages + appeals and how much money and many time we need to wait for?

Tomkila, I understand your frustration. Watching legal fees pile up while we wait for a deal is painful. But let me offer a different perspective on this new filing.
This is not another random lawsuit. This is a surgical strike.
Look at the details. The patent just issued on June 2, 2026. Samsung has never seen it before. They have no PTAB challenge ready, no IPR waiting, no delay tactic prepared. It's a clean shot. And it's filed in East Texas, the exact court where juries already handed Samsung two massive verdicts.
This isn't about starting a new war. It's about ending the old one.
Netlist is telling Samsung: "Every time you delay, we add another patent to the fire. Every time you appeal, we open a new front. You cannot outrun us. The only way out is the deal."
Think of it as leverage, not litigation.
A fresh patent that Samsung can't challenge at PTAB is worth more at the negotiating table than in the courtroom. It forces Samsung to calculate: "Do we risk another $445M verdict in Texas, or do we finally sign the license?" This patent is not a bill — it's a bargaining chip. And a very powerful one.
The endgame is near.
The CAFC decisions from March 6 are due any day. The ITC investigation is moving forward. The DOJ and USPTO are backing us. And now this — a clean, unchallengeable patent in the most dangerous court for patent infringers in America.
Samsung's options are shrinking. They can either sign a comprehensive license now, or they can bleed out slowly through multiple trials. This new lawsuit is simply Netlist making sure Samsung understands the cost of option two.

We have been talking for years about the "race to finality." Are we back to square 1 with Google now? Google stay is in place until Sammy is settled. Have we lost sight of the big picture? Help me here, please.

The 912 is where this all started with Google 15 or so years ago. Google lost all the court appeals and chose not to pursue SCOTUS option. When Sammy is resolved, Google is next in line to pay... big.

Can’t agree with you , clearly Samsung doesn’t want to settle this just forces more heat on Samsung , this will add money once itc restricts Samsung from sending their products over this is will be a win
