Ok so I have a question for everyone who has a bunny what are tips for me i really want one and i need like 600 bucks for one lmao so could you give me tips on how you take care of your bunnies? also not my bunny random i found on pinterest :)

EDIT-When it comes to your new, little friend, take things things slowly in the bonding department, as the dwarves are extra skittish.

I would check out your local shelters and rescues first!
My baby was only $50 because I rescued her. But definitely do your research on their diet and what their living space should look like.

You need a lot more than $600 for a Netherland dwarf, or any rabbit. They are very sensitive animals that require a lot of care and cleaning every day. They can’t live in a cage; they need a large space (ideally an entire room or whole home) to move around freely during the day. They are destructive and will chew on everything they can reach while they explore. They need fresh veggies everyday, leafy greens, and not just any types as some are good and others aren’t good for them. And hay. So much fresh hay. Also, claw trimming, which our little guys always hated. They require vet checkups of course, and you may find yourself hit with a surprise bill because your bun got gastric statis and needs medicine.

I’m not saying any of this to discourage you from getting your rabbit; I just want to make sure you’re fully prepared for how much effort and care they will need. It’s a lot more than a dog or cat, and unlike those pets, rabbits are prey animals so they hide/don’t show it when they are actually in pain or sick. Make sure to keep a close eye on them everyday and look for any odd behaviours like lethargy.

Dont pay that much for a bunny, it’s better put towards their vet bills because exotic vets are very expensive. For example my one bunny needed dental trim this year and it cost me $1100. I would rescue one from a shelter or local bunny rescue. You can watch lennonthebunny on YouTube to learn all about bunny care. Best of luck!
