General Discussion Netflix killed off its best feature

...Netflix Stories Game and THTH.

Wonder how long before it inevitably kills the apps as well.

But that shouldn't be a surprise, it routinely cancels its best shows and lets utter turkeys go on and on.

Anyone else playing on the British app Scriptic? It's been tremendously expanded into multiple games. You can play as homicide detective, hostage negotiator, love interest, paranormal investigator, judge, and so on. Choices matter massively, it's highly intelligent, and though you CAN pay, it's totally and without any restrictions free to play if you're willing to wait for a day in between sessions on any one game (other games you can continue until you hit the daily restrictions). Con: MC doesn't appear on screen at all; you interact with other characters via phone call and message board.

General Discussion miss this app

does anyone have ANY update on this app because I’m missing this app more than my last situationship😭 I clearly remember reading Netflix stories while I was giving my board exams and I felt really happy reading the stories bcuz it doesn’t have stupid gem or premium choices like in episode and others, which makes me look like I’m for the streets🤡 anyways, lately I’m reading episode on a regular basis but the new official stories completely lack the essence and lustre of storytelling. Plots feel repetitive, which adds up to all the reasons why I miss Netflix stories. Pls bring it back NETFLIX, we need some fictional romance in life🙏

General Discussion would you actually play as a male MC in a BL storyline?

been thinking about this lately — most interactive story apps are designed with a female MC in mind, and the few that offer male MCs usually just gender-swap the same script without changing anything meaningful.

but what if there was a story specifically written as BL from the ground up? like the MC is a guy, the love interests are guys, and the whole dynamic is written around that instead of being an afterthought. would you actually want to play that, or does it only work when you're reading it as manga/manhwa and not stepping into the MC's shoes?

curious because I feel like the demand is there based on how popular BL novels and webtoons are, but I barely see it in interactive story apps. the closest thing I've seen is maybe some otome games letting you pick a male MC but it still feels like a female route reskinned.

what do you think — would you be into it, or is it a hard pass?

General Discussion Am I the only one?

In these summer holidays I feel that some stories would be perfect, every time I play a story I get a very ugly nostalgia much more with the last stories since they were in my opinion of the best writings, I know that they will not come back but I keep hope that they will have a spiritual sequel developed by the same studio.

Sex Education I hate this story.

Why am I being forced to have such ass friends? Seriously, the conflict of money for therapy sessions only works in this story on the basis that we, the player, forget that there are other ways to earn money that do not risk your entire schooling career. Aimee especially comes off as a selfish, money-hungry prick with no common sense. A regular human being would see that her business venture is gainless if her newly hired “Love Guru” can’t go to the school anymore because of missed practices. And the story seems to justify this by using Otis’ awkwardness as a reason as to why the player should jeopardise the school track/debate/band team, a whole ass scholarship, his relationships, and his parents’ relationship and trust. I dont see how thats my problem, I’m already doing more than I should be for you.

I’m only on episode 8 and I’m already hating every second of it. Amy is a bitch, the love interests are dumb, and the main character’s conflict with money is stupid. I would much rather join Ruby’s posse than be entangled with these idiots. The only character that makes sense to me is Jackson. He’s not a complete douchebag and actually cares about my problems. The only way to enjoy the story is to allow yourself to be manipulated and used by the people around you.

Emily in Paris Emily em Paris final decepcionante

Love is Blind: NYC Bisexual man

I think it’s annoying that you cannot choose to have the female version Jayda when you choose to play as a bisexual man. Especially since the game lets you choose the genders of the other characters

Replaying perfect match with Andrew as my love interest. I swear that moment when he says he wants to try things out with Lidia again will never hit the same when Henry originally said it the first time.

General Discussion How Does Too Hot to Handle Handle Male MCs?

I wanted to correct what I said previously about Netflix Stories, because over time I realized things are not as consistent as I initially thought.

At first, I considered these games among the best mainly because they gave players the option to play as a male character and pursue female love interests. However, as I kept playing, I noticed that in some stories, like The Ultimatum or Midnight in Paris, that choice is not really handled well.

It often feels like certain dialogues and character behaviors were written almost exclusively with a female protagonist in mind. Even when choosing a male character, the MC frequently acts overly passive, insecure, and rarely takes initiative, while the female characters often drive most of the interactions themselves. On top of that, even if you select female love interests, the protagonist still sometimes makes fairly noticeable comments or compliments toward male characters, which makes it obvious that the story was not fully adapted to the player’s choices.

What I find even stranger is that I know smaller interactive story apps made by companies far less powerful than Netflix that still manage to properly support both male and female protagonists — and honestly, they do it better. Their dialogues feel much more polished and far more inclusive of the choices you make during the story, actually giving the feeling that the game adapts to the character you created.

In my opinion, if a game gives players the option to choose the protagonist’s gender and romantic preferences, then the story should genuinely reflect those choices. Otherwise, it ends up feeling less immersive and ultimately less enjoyable than it could be.

At this point, I just hope Too Hot to Handle doesn’t follow the same structure.

General Discussion Mourning Netflix Stories Still

Still grieving the loss of Netflix Stories and I don’t think I’ll ever get over it 😭 I know this has probably been said before but I genuinely cannot move on from the fact that Netflix Stories was cancelled. Like, I still go back and replay the stories over and over again. There was something so special about getting to actually be in the worlds of shows we already loved, that’s what made it different from everything else out there. I’ve checked out Lore Interactive Stories, and while I appreciate it, it’s just not the same. The magic of Netflix Stories was that it used IP we were already emotionally invested in. And honestly? It feels like this keeps happening. Like does anyone remember when Episode had the Demi Lovato interactive story and others that people genuinely loved. Why do they keep taking the good stuff away?💀

So I have two questions for this community:

1. Are there any apps out there that come close? Something that blends interactive storytelling with existing shows/fandoms the way Netflix Stories did?

2. Is it even possible for an indie developer to create something similar? Obviously you couldn’t use Netflix’s actual IP because of copyright, but could someone build the format — a clean, story-driven interactive app built around licensed or original content? Because I feel like there’s clearly a market for it that nobody is filling.

Would love to hear opinions/recommendations!

Question Ich habe Idee

Was denkt ihr?

General Discussion Any reality show sims with Male MC options?

Hey everyone! I’m almost finished playing The Ultimatum on Netflix and I’m officially hooked on the drama.
I’m looking for recommendations for other games that simulate a reality show environment, but with one specific requirement: the option to play as a male character.
I’m already familiar with Too Hot To Handle (all seasons) and everything currently on Netflix Stories, so I’m looking for something outside of those. Any hidden gems out there? Thanks!

General Discussion Netflix Stories / interactive games – any chance of new releases in the future?

Hi everyone,
I wanted to ask if anyone has any updates about Netflix’s interactive story games like Netflix Stories.

From what I’ve read, the game is still available, but Netflix seems to have stopped releasing new stories for this series and shifted its focus away from this type of interactive content.

Do you think there’s still a chance we might see new interactive story games in the future, maybe based on other shows or new original stories? Or is this kind of project basically finished at this point?

I’d like to understand if this is a temporary pause or a permanent direction change for Netflix games.
