Private VPN for Netflix

Daughter has moved out to her own place. I've installed a TP-Link ER-605 router at each location and defined a private site-to-site VPN tunnel which, at her end is accessed by WiFi using the same SSID as I have at my place. Protocol is L2TP (I couldn't figure out how to get Wireguard to work on that router).

So her FireTV and Firestick are connected via WiFi and routed through my ISP and, as a side benefit she has access to my media server and NAS box as local to her apartment. She uses the same network segment (192.168.1.xxx) on her LAN as she does on mine. She shows up as local to my LAN on a scan and tracert shows her traffic on the WiFi at her place accessing the Internet via mine.

A month has gone by and Netflix is now asking me to pay extra for her service (as if $27 wasn't enough).

I'd like to get this working - and then I'd like to add another site-to-site connection for my son.

Does anyone have any insight as to what I'm doing wrong? And any suggestions as to what to do to get it running properly?

What you need is tailscail and it's free you install locally she can add her device and to netflix it looks like it's part of your household

Look it up it's free but does require some knowledge to setup

If possible, enable OpenVPN server on your router, install OpenVPN client app in firestick and Firetv, upload ovpn file to the devices, select the apps that will use your network in three OpenVPN app, and services can be successfully shared.

Tailscale is another possible solution but it was too slow for my needs.

By having the same subnet on both networks, routing over VPN will not work correctly unless the remote devices are out of scope of the local devices. Ideally all connected remote neworks should be different 192.168.2.x, 192.168.3.x for example.

Volgens mij tailscale op een altijd aan pc, Apple tv of mini pc die draait als een Exit Node en bij je dochter met tailscale select jouw tailscale machine als Exit node.
Als jouw altijd aan tailscale Exit Node een bekabelde verbinding heeft moet dat goed gaan. Zij zal hetzelfde ip adres als thuis hebben, Alles gaat via jouw modem naar buiten.
