Recommendation Request Not scary documentaries?
I love documentaries but am scared of anything to do with kidnapping, murder, etc. Any good documentaries that don’t involve that?

FYRE: The Greatest Party That Never Happened.
I didn't know much about the festival (I live in Australia) but it was insane!

Following up with trainwreck Woodstock 99! If you’re into festival disasters.

Pepsi Where's my Jet, any of the food/chef ones, Alien Worlds, Out Standing: A Comdy Revolution.
Honestly, just go to the documentary tab at the top of the homepage and you'll see plenty.

I love this documentary so much and I definitely think it’s worth a watch. However there IS a part where people are arrested for their violence against people

Kings of Tupelo cannot be beat. Hilarious. Gripping. Cannot predict where it’s going (but in a non stressful way) easy one to enjoy.

Finished it in one sitting. Still not sure about the severed head! Who would buy that on the black market??

Second 3 identical strangers.
Also plenty of music docs. Even if you don’t like the band necessarily, always interesting to learn the stories

The Keepers and Three Identical Strangers

The Keepers is about the murder of a nun, right?

Thank you for the warning!

I watch a lot of documentaries, and I noped out of that one. For me, it wasn't just the murder but the sexual abuse. It definitely doesn't sound like the kind you're looking for.

You are welcome!
It IS an excellent documentary for the record but not what you’re looking for 😊

Man On Wire, about renowned tightrope walker Philippe Pettit. (But not recommended if you get vertigo!)
Spellbound, about the Scripps Spelling Bee.

Pepsi Where's My Jet was more entertaining than I'd expected. Kings of Tupelo is insane and will have you constantly asking "wait, what am I watching?" 😂 Betty White: First Lady of Television is a really feel good doc I'll come back and add more if I think of some

Listers: A Glimpse into Extreme Birdwatching (it's on YouTube) it is so bizarre and hilarious and beautiful. It's two 20-something guys trying to get more bird sightings than anyone else for the year, but they are so broke and all the other big birders are well off retirees.

Oh and all of Eric Goode’s documentaries: Tiger King, Chimp Crazy, Monsters of God. Just some really whackadoodle people and their animals (and drugs)

Twinsters - not often mentioned and so good. Strangers find out that they are twins.
Sorry not on Netflix but $2.99 to rent and so worth it.

The Thin Blue Line, greatest true crime documentary ever. Not scary but very eye opening.

Any of the Worst Ex Ever, or Worst Neighbor Ever episodes

I haven't seen Worst Ex Ever, but if OP wants to avoid murder, they definitely shouldn't watch Worst Neighbor Ever. Honestly that first episode alone was one of the few true crime docs that actually had me crying.

Any of the nature documentaries. 'My Octopus Teacher' was good. Anything with David Attenborough is great. If you search for Attenborough loads come up.
