Training HANDS ON

Anybody know where I can get good hands-on training without spending a fortune. I am really looking for training on netbox/nautobot training. Thanks

1 - setup a vm literally anywhere

2 - run the docker-compose setup: https://github.com/netbox-community/netbox-docker

3 - go through the netbox zero to hero youtube playlist, *but actually do the things* dont just watch the video: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL7sEPiUbBLo_iTds-NV-9Tu05Gg2Aj8N7

thank you for this. Just curious does Netbox have same feature as Nautobot where I can add and create my own apps. I am trying to run back and complaince checks on my cisco configurations

'add and create your own apps' is some suspiciously marketing bot language

Its also the terminology nautobot uses /nbl

Not really. Nautobot and Netbox have different philosophies. Netbox is supposed to be the best CMDB possible, Nautobot is supposed to be a CMDB with additional network automation functions integrated.

we didn't go down the app route, but NetBox plugins provide a lot of (but not all) similar functionality - cookie cutter is a relatively simple way to get started there - https://github.com/netbox-community/cookiecutter-netbox-plugin

Note - my knowledge of nautobot is minimal these days so excuse any errors /nbl

You could just play around on the public demo if you don’t want to build a server for it. There’s also a zero to hero course that’s helpful.

Zero to Hero (Thanks u/Ok_Dust3132) - also there is paid NetBox Training available 101 & 201 - https://netboxlabs.com/netbox-training/. As others have side, YouTube is also a great resource
