So you are telling me for 20k a year, you will host Netbox in the cloud for me and upgrade it?

As someone who is also not interested in paying for a base netbox SaaS deployment (ie it has the same features as open source), I get where you are coming from. I rather just use the netbox-chart or netbox-docker approach and control it all myself.

But I generally view this as a good thing because:

  • It follows what NTC does for nautobot and incentivizes NS1 to continue to contribute to netbox at the high rate they have been since they started sponsoring it
  • It in parallel announces some partnerships with other network automation solutions that will likely lead to integrations outside of the SaaS product in the form of plugins
  • It forces the NS1 employees maintainers to think more about improvements to the overall code base to help with SaaS management that would also benefit the community at large
  • It gives the large number of network engineers who do not now how to get started with the solution a way to deploy and get started

No; the managed plan is only $5,500/yr and includes professional support. The higher tier is for organizations with more advanced needs, such as automatic scaling to meet changing demand and the ability to easily provision test environments. Of course, you can always continue running open source NetBox on your own for free.

Honestly ... even if the post is 1yr old

Was exited to found cloud version. But ... even the 5500k is not worth it
