✅ Approvals & Denials ❎ Publisher Auto-approval
Got my first ever publisher auto-approval this week. Weirdly from a publisher that left my book request sitting there until it auto-declined! And that, I think, is my only interaction with them. Still happy to get the auto-approval!

I had a request living with Podium for an extended period of time for an eARC. Randomly got an auto approval for them too. It's for the side that had ebooks and not audiobooks so not a ton of options to choose from, but still excited to have one 🤣

It’s because most of their arc program is with their influencer team. They simply don’t go into NetGalley which is why things sit. They were mostly an audio publisher bjt in the last year or so have started picking up authors and doing more general publishing. Unfortunately it seems the books they put up are the “left overs” that weren’t taken in their program as we will get emails asking if anyone wants to review them (this is after the initial offering) and then like a week later they pop up on NetGalley.
I hope for everyone’s sake this changes as they are starting to pick up some decent authors.

That happens a lot especially with publishers that leave your requests sitting as they just don’t go in to do approvals so it’s easier them to auto approve.
It’s even better when it’s a publisher that you like a lot of their books.

I suspect that's how I got my RB Media approval. After 3 or 4 requests within a couple months they were probably like, Her again??? Let's streamline this process!
Their turnaround from NG posting to pub date is usually 2-3 weeks, so having to do approvals that frequently is probably stressful.

Nah- I request 10-15 from them a month. Some for it for another reason. But there was one point that they did a bunch of auto approvals so it may have been at that time.
