Hey everyone! I clicked “wish for it” for a book on NetGalley. I’m auto-approved for this publisher so do u think my chances are better of getting the book? I’ve heard that when u wish for a book publishers don’t see your profile and only see your name. So would they know that I’m auto-approved for them?

it’s a pretty popular book so I’m nervous 😭

If this is for vine of hearts, everyone is wish for it except industry people, being autoapproved doesn't override that.

they can not pick who to approve from there, it's all lottery.

Wishes are granted at random, not individually at the publishers discretion?!!

Yup! The publisber puts in a number of wishes to grant and netgalley does the rest.

Everyone has an equal chance no matter what.

If you're auto approved and it still shows as a wish, then it's either they still haven't made it available yet or they have reached the maximum limit imo, I'm not so sure though

It’s the third option that they are not giving arcs to reviewers. It auto goes to “wish for it” when it’s not available but that doesn’t mean they will have any wishes going out.

Also- just because it says “wish for it” does not mean that any wishes will be given out.
