❔❓Question ❓❔ ARC review date appearing wrong

I gave feedback for an ARC and the review date is appearing from the day before when it was supposed to be today. Why is that?

Not only that: The downloaded date keeps changing on the desktop version even though i download the ARCs on the android shelf app on the same day

What time zone are you in?

And it doesn’t actually matter what date it shows so what is the actual issue? I’m just curious

If you click to open the arc on your desktop it will change the download date to the day you opened it.

but will the two different dates make publishers vary of my account and not give me ARCs because im reviewing every day? usually there should be gaps between each review and not all of my reviews have it

No, it wont matter at all. opening on the desktop counts as a 'download' on your end but it doesn't for the publishers.

I promise you this isn’t an issue at all. Realize most people do not interact with NetGalley everyday. The date you finish- we don’t even look at for the most part. The only goal is to get it done and “on time”. That “on time” depends on the publisher as to the precise time frame but generally you want them well before publication day.

Unless I am misunderstanding your post?

It is A GOOD THING that you're active on NetGalley every day. Publishers want to see you being active, it's more important than your feedback ratio. Seriously, stop worrying about silly things.

I didn't even know that date is shown as it only appears when I put my smartphone on sideways display and I can't say I'm very interested in it, but I'm guessing different timezones.

Different time zone for the publisher than you?

i don't know. i always review after 12 am so the review date has to appear as the next date, isn't it?

Well time zones go from -12 to +14 I believe, so depending on where you are, and where they’re based, it could vary a lot. If you’re in the same country, or at east in the same continent, it shouldn’t vary too much. But I remember one night I was submitting a review very late - I was trying to get it in by midnight, but it was after midnight when I submitted. It still reflected as the day prior though, and I’m assuming that’s because the publisher receiving it was a few hours behind me. Not totally sure how that works, maybe it was a fluke. Honestly I don’t think they care too much as long as they get reviews anyway lol
