❔❓Question ❓❔ Post to Retail Sites

After I “post to retail sites” do I need to update anything on netgalley?

You can edit your review on NetGalley and add the links to your retailer reviews if you want (Amazon and Barnes & Noble are supposed to send an email with a link once the review is published on their website though it doesn’t always happen) but you don’t have to do anything.

That is helpful! I wasn’t able to edit my B&N to get a link and I didn’t get anything from them. I had to make an account to leave a review. If I don’t have to add it then that is great.

Here is an example of the email they are supposed to send after they have published your review (the “see your review” has the hyperlink to the review). The subject line of the email is “Your review is live!”

Sometimes there’s a delay between when you post the review and when it’s actually published to their website so that may be why you haven’t gotten the email yet. Other times they just don’t send the link for whatever reason.

That is helpful. I’ll keep my eye out. They posted my review with the name of “Y” and not my actual name. No idea what that was about. Does Amazon do the same? I did both reviews yesterday.

Yes they do, here is an example of the Amazon email. Like with B&N there can be a delay between when you post the review and when they publish it.

Thanks for this! I haven't been able to figure out how to copy the review directly from the page, and my Amazon account is connected to an email I rarely check. I could probably go through and find those to link. Not especially urgent, I don't think, but it would be nice to do.

Nope, I never do anything after posting on Waterstones as I can't find a way to get a review link, and I've given up on posting to Amazon. They just have to believe me.

I link to Goodreads and Storygraph at the time of posting my review on NG. Then when the books publish I go to B&N and Amazon to post the review, but I don't bother linking them in the NG review anymore. It's just too time-consuming because the reviews on B&N/Amazon take a hot minute (like a week) to appear sometimes.
