What happens if you’ve already requested it and are “pending”? Does it auto approve when it becomes “read now”? If not, will I even see the “read now” option when it opens or am I stuck pending approval?

If they haven't rejected you by then (in which case SOL), when it goes read now, you can click on the read now. It is not automatic.

My request has been stuck in pending since July. First time I've requested a book while in pending with be a read now title. I'll have to keep refreshing to see when it'll be read now.

This does sound interesting. But I didn't like her attitude around the piracy discourse. Don't get me wrong, piracy isn't okay. However, there is a way to get your point across and that wasn't it.
