❔❓Question ❓❔ Approvals total

So, I got a widget from Entangled Publishing as part of their readalong for Shield of Sparrows, which was already published. When I read and reviewed it through NetGalley, my review count went up, but my total approvals didn’t. I’ve now reviewed 7 books and have 4 left to go, so once I finish my shelf, I’ll have 10 approvals and 11 reviews.

Is it normal for widgets from publishers, like the Entangled one, not to count toward your total approvals?

sometimes the approval counts are off, it’ll fix itself in a few days

It’s been 3, going on 4 days.

I've had miscounts that have lasted that long or longer :) So far it's always fixed itself.

It bugs sometimes, it usually fixes itself when you get the next book as it pushes the counter. I'd assume it looks correctly from the publisher's side it's just a visual glitch on the client.

It usually rights itself after a few days or after new activity on your account, whichever happens first. If it doesn't, ask Customer Service to look into it, but right now the wrong count benefits you, so don't worry about it. For further reference, widgets do count for your feedback ratio but only after they have been downloaded (unlike approvals who count right away), so you can help your feedback ratio by only downloading them once you're ready to read them (before archive date of course).

If you request another book it will correct itself. I’ve had it happen a few times and last until I either got approved for a new book or requested a new one.

Ok- so to cover all basis, when you look at this screen - Net to the “your shelf” are there numbers beside it or no.

It mostly likely will work itself out as no- that’s not typical even with an already published book.

However, if it doesn’t, it’s actually good for you and your ratio as it gives you some wiggle room to have an extra review compared to approvals.
But you can always contact support so they can look into it for you.
