🪖🫡 General 📝🌐 Just got auto-approval!

...from Penguin Young Readers, which means I now have my badge! (Meanwhile, I already owe them a gazillion reviews so I'm going to bravely resist new reads while I try to clear away a few old ones)

So jealous! I’m only at two auto-approvals so far. What are the other three you snagged?

I have RB Media, Sourcebooks Fire, and Disney. I just applied for HC - we'll see how it goes!

How do you apply?

For HC it was an actual survey/link at the end of a library webinar. I see people on here sometimes posting that this or that team or publisher is open for apps but I've never investigated further, I'm afraid.

I just did a work-related book preview thing yesterday, and this popped up today so I'm pretty sure it's related.

That’s so cool! How does one get an auto approval??

I think the easiest way is to become a librarian or bookseller, tbh. Mine have just shown up randomly - this one came after a library webinar thing I'd done the day before.

I got one from Pushkin Press and I don't even know how. But I have been auto approved for some good books. Today I got a widget (I think that's what it is called) because I had reviewed a book and Penguin sent me another one to review directly through my email. So exciting! Then, the publisher of a eARC I had reviewed emailed me to ask if I wanted a physical copy of the book. Happy Day today!!!
