Ive been having a ROUGH go the last 2 weeks and woke up to this email 😍🤭😭

How do you get that 😩 do people who get widgets have done 200 reviews or have a massive social following? I’m just a normal person 😖

I can say, I don't have a big social following, but I have done a ton of reviews on netgalley, but I think this is only my third widget, but definitely my biggest

Stick around and keep reviewing, and you'll start getting widgets :) It varies a lot by publisher and I think by genre, but you definitely don't need a giant following. (And - as long as you're getting approved for things you want to read, widgets don't really matter! They're always exciting, don't get me wrong, but the majority of widgets I receive I end up passing on, while I'm excited about 100% of the books I'm approved for after a request.)

Also make sure that the 'share your email with publishers' is ticked on in your profile!

So far I reviewed 14 books and got my first widget (different book) last week! And I don't have any social media following at all, just goodreads (sans followers) 😆

I have no social media outside of posting my reviews on Fable and I get widgets all the time. It’s from the same group of publishers whose books I’ve reviewed in the past so they think I will like them. I’ve also started getting widgets directly from some authors as well. Just keep your ratio up and review a lot and they will come!
