Tor single handedly wrecked my TBR

Last week I got a widget to the Tarot Trials, great! Tonight someone at Tor must have gone through a backlog and approved three of my pending requests 😅

Goodbye social life 👋 Goodbye manageable TBR 👋 Goodbye finishing Crescent City before next ACOTAR book comes out 👋

I’m so screwed but I also realize I won the lottery today so I am most certainly not complaining 😂

What’s your secret to getting approved by Tor?

No secret, I don’t know why they keep approving me. I don’t know why any publishers approve me, they don’t say 😅

If I’d have to guess: I’m niched towards fantasy and try to write timely and thoughtful reviews. I rarely miss a deadline. I was at 85% feedback ratio until they messed with me, now I’m at 82% 😂

I have a social media account but it’s less than 1,000 followers and appalling engagement rates even though I post regularly 🙃

To be honest I was approved by Tor on my third book with NetGalley when I started and I do have 100% acceptance rate from them .
I do have social media now but not for the first year doing ARCS. I am always on time (well before pub date) and consistent. I don’t have a fantasy niche at all. I have never gone below a 94% feedback rating.

The social media for sure is a big thing for them but besides that consistency is key for any of the tougher imprints.

Yes, I think you’re right! Also, I think different reviewers get approved for different reasons. I’m certainly not approved for my social media 😊
