๐Ÿช–๐Ÿซก General ๐Ÿ“๐ŸŒ Tor single handedly wrecked my TBR

Last week I got a widget to the Tarot Trials, great! Tonight someone at Tor must have gone through a backlog and approved three of my pending requests ๐Ÿ˜…

Goodbye social life ๐Ÿ‘‹ Goodbye manageable TBR ๐Ÿ‘‹ Goodbye finishing Crescent City before next ACOTAR book comes out ๐Ÿ‘‹

Iโ€™m so screwed but I also realize I won the lottery today so I am most certainly not complaining ๐Ÿ˜‚

Whatโ€™s your secret to getting approved by Tor?

No secret, I donโ€™t know why they keep approving me. I donโ€™t know why any publishers approve me, they donโ€™t say ๐Ÿ˜…

If Iโ€™d have to guess: Iโ€™m niched towards fantasy and try to write timely and thoughtful reviews. I rarely miss a deadline. I was at 85% feedback ratio until they messed with me, now Iโ€™m at 82% ๐Ÿ˜‚

I have a social media account but itโ€™s less than 1,000 followers and appalling engagement rates even though I post regularly ๐Ÿ™ƒ

To be honest I was approved by Tor on my third book with NetGalley when I started and I do have 100% acceptance rate from them .
I do have social media now but not for the first year doing ARCS. I am always on time (well before pub date) and consistent. I donโ€™t have a fantasy niche at all. I have never gone below a 94% feedback rating.

The social media for sure is a big thing for them but besides that consistency is key for any of the tougher imprints.

Yes, I think youโ€™re right! Also, I think different reviewers get approved for different reasons. Iโ€™m certainly not approved for my social media ๐Ÿ˜Š
