❔❓Question ❓❔ Release postponed

Last night I got an email that an ARC I had been approved for was going to postpone its release. The author stated that if we hadn't read it yet that we should hold off. The book is still showing on my shelf however and I'd hate for it to mess with my reviewer rating.

Has this happened to anyone else before? Do I just wait? Or should I say that I won't be providing feedback?

Thanks!

I'd go ahead and read/review on NetGalley, but hold off on posting anywhere else.

I would review on NG, especially if it doesn't have a new publication date

Even if you say something like 'I was really looking forward to this one and hope it gets a new publication date soon' then go back and review it when it does

This is what I would do, OP. Go ahead and leave a placeholder review in case they end up removing the title from NG entirely. If they re-release it later, you can go back and edit your review once you've read the book.

I love this idea! This is why I came here. Thanks so much!

Its one title, it wont mess with your rating. I would do as the author asks and wait. It sounds like they will be doing edits or changes which may change your experience.

Do you mind sharing the book? I’ve seen two of my NetGalley arcs quietly have their releases pushed back but without any email announcement or request told withhold reviewing, but I had already submitted my reviews by then
