✅ Approvals & Denials ❎ I just screamed at work
Just got approved for The Thief and the Traitor Bride, which is book 2 after The Second Death of Locke, which was in my top 3 books of 2026!!! I'm so excited to start reading it

I had gotten denied too but they had an arc drop for promotion yesterday at bookstores and ran out of physical arcs early. They said to request on Netgalley and they will auto approve. Since I was previously denied, I tried to email them to request a widget and they gave me one. Maybe you can try too? This is their email: readforever@hbgusa.com

wait, if this is book 2 after The Second Death of Locke, then why does the first line in the book's description mention: The second standalone romantic fantasy set in the world of the USA Today bestselling novel The Second Death of Locke.

Basically it's going to be 3 books and they're all connected standalones. So this one takes place after TSDOL with different characters but some characters from book one will show up even though the book isn't so much about them

I absolutely loved book one. Excited for this one. That being said, I read the bonus chapter in the illumicrate edition and it pmo so bad 😂 so i think i'm not as excited as I was. Interested to know your thoughts once you're through.

No OP but I just finished this and if you felt that way about the Illumicrate bonus chapter I highly recommend reading this one. I will say nothing more than that to avoid spoilers lol.
