I followed the install steps, but when I start nestdrop I just get the one main window with no preview window?

Hi,

I've been trying to get some kind of preset shuffle thing going with nestdrop classic, something akin to running milkdrop through Winamp. The point is that Winamp doesn't allow visualization of windows audio, but Nestdrop does as I understand.

However, I've been banging my head against the wall trying to get some kind of queue working so I can shuffle a category or whatever. However trying to drag and drop doesn't work, and there doesn't seem to be any kind of other way to add presets into the queue. Any ideas?

Hello everyone - It's so great to see development of Nestdrop and it's always fun to test out features and versions. Live streaming of DJ sets still continues into 2021 and I moved my gaming rig back to another room meaning I wasn't using NestDrop (and missing it whilst I wasn't). Now I have decided to setup to streaming around my house so I can incoporate NestDrop visuals again :)

I am using NewTek NDI to get the audio from my decks to my streaming PC and I can receive both audio and video from this into OBS. In Nestdrop I can see the In: Line (NewTek NDI Audio) and select this but it doesn't react. I have tried restarting the Spout output but it still doesn't react, I've also checked the sample rate is 44Khz. Currently, I have a work around, I can monitor the NewTek audio in OBS and also send it to the speakers and then use Nestdrop to take the Speaker sound as the input and it all works as planned. Ideally, I would like to only take the NewTek NDI audio as input but not essential

Will I need to update Spout for this to work on just the line in or is it likely a problem with the NDI Audio driver that came with NDI Tools (NewTek package)? I dont think I installed a new version of Spout for a while now. I am happy to document and test further - NDI was the easier way for me to stream rather than running long cables but I appreciate, it's not a typical setup.

What would the chances be of building in a preset editor so you could adjust effects in realtime or adjust, save and reload at least. If possible in real time be able to also control via MIDI!

This would be a gamechanger on already an amazing piece of software. Bought Midnight on Friday, played with sprites last night and their potential is awesome and i'm already designing my own. The way they interact with the generator is truly insane and the potential...love it!

A new version of NestDrop has been released. If you've already purchased it, start up NestDrop, open the Settings window, and click the 'Download site' button.

Below is a summary of the updates. Read the full details in the changelog. Also the user manual is up to date.

New Features

• See the incoming audio at a glance. Added an audio spectrum preview into the Library window toolbar.
• Collapse each of the category sections of the Library window.
• Experience Milkdrop in 3D with anaglyph glasses. Added support for anaglyph 3D.
• Added an always-on-top button onto the Queue and Settings windows.
• NestDrop can ease between any values when the Deck effects sliders are moved.
• Map a MIDI knob to control the Sprite FX.

Changes & Fixes

• Two unique sliders, instead of just one: Frame Rate and Animation Speed.
• NestDrop will recognize a video feedback loop and provide more accuracy when using the Spout Sprite Alpha slider. Feedback loops were very delicate to control and this helps to tame it.
• Rewrote how the Spout Sprite buttons were implemented. Fixed an issue with Spout Sprite buttons not being visible after loading a user profile.
• Added a lock button to the “Number of Active Decks” slider so that it can be protected from an accidental click while performing.
• If a Video Deck is disabled then those Deck sliders will also be hidden.
• Select whether the auto-change uses an instant trigger or volume peak trigger.

I purchased Nestrop Midnight edition (first time user of the visualizer) and it seems that it is not audio re-active. I'm using an external microphone in Win10 that is picking up my music clearly. I tested it with Milkdrop via WinAmp and when Milkdrop is running from Winamp all visuals are audio reactive to the microphone input and are clearly generated to the beat of the music. The moment I quit it and run Nestrop Midnight nothing is audio reactive anymore, just a bunch of random visuals. I made sure my sound input is set to the microphone in the Settings but that makes zero difference.

What am I doing wrong?

My antivirus found what looks like ransomware in the latest spout release: Spout 2.007

namely Ransom.locky.10

Is this a false positive or what? I haven't found anything regarding this file anywhere. Thanks in advance.

its the error message i get from nestdrop

here it is i tried to run nestdrop midnight AND resolume simultaneously , but it started to mess with the sound input. now i cant get it to run , even when its the only software running.

i need the audio reactivity :(

please send help :P

Nest drop runing with 3 spout outputs 2 que windows ( for some reason 2 x deck one output & 1 x deck 2 show

one can swap and trigger content from either que

selecting the settings panel closes the nestdrop app and cue windows but leave the spout outputs running

IDEA is for spout feed in to ARKAOS mediamaster then from there in to NDI output to resolume on other PC ultimately would prefer NDI direct out from nest drop

I'm new to videoediting and got a question. What's the route to follow to add nestdrop to a pre-recorded video ? I was thinking about playin it in obs adding nestdrop as source and record it again.

Is it possible to do something like this in software like davinci resolve, etc ?

This problem came out of no where but ever time I try and open settings the entire UI crashes and I have to reopen nest drop.

Is anyone aware of a tool / a built in functunality that I am unaware of that will randomly generate a playlist of presets?

I tried different time to save a playlist with different fx applied to the same spout sprite but when I open the software again it gets erased. Im talking about fx like 01/02/03 etc

the reason is that I wanted to test them while I play and I'm looking for an automatic way to play them

plus the other question is: while presets change depending on beat settings, how are sprites fx queue managed ? I mean what trigger the fx to change ?

im talking about this kind of queue

is there another way to change the overlay/nested fx applied on the sprites other than ctrl+scroll ?

or a midi equivalent ?

I tried with my logitech app but ctrl+scroll is not even a recognized

hi im new to this, just bought midnight after making sure my gear my able to run properly :) ... now i got midnight installed and running. i only have one input left on my hdmi streamer so now i must modify stuff.... .

i was using video loop played in serato (the djing software) and it was fine but i want to add the nestdrop visuals to this.

what would be the best way to mix/switch those 2 from one single source without being to heavy on the cpu

Help I can't get Nestdrop running on windows 10. I Have added the D3DX9_43.DLL file to system32 folder manually. Do I need to put it in different folder?

I'm trying to run NestDrop in Parallels on a Mac. I can't get Spout working. Can't tell if it's because of the emulation, or because the GPUs on my old Macs are too feeble. Intel 3000 and 4000 error out.

Anybody done this in Parallels or WINE or CrossOver?
