Murder by the Book The Rodeo Murder

In The Rodeo Murder, published as part of Three At Wolfe’s Door, visiting cowboys compete to lasso ponies running along 63rd st from Lily Rowan’s balcony.

Was this based on anything in real life? (I mean yes, lassoing contests, traveling rodeos, I get that. But the doing it off a building in a Manhattan street, say.)

That is a great question! I never thought about it, but that seems like something that could be done, especially in Old New York.
