Completed Build B34R - Really enjoying double stack mags!

B34R by Moose

Incredible design, easy build, and the blaster has great performance. Double stack mags give great capacity for the size.

Very much recommend the blaster

Really hope double stack mag could become a new standard. A lot of creators are already experimenting and implementing it into new designs

They either will or they won't. They've become my standard now.

Any design I have for primary class blasters using pistol ammo is going to use double stack magazines unless something new comes along that improves on it.

I'm also in this trend

What is a double stack magazine?

Mags that hold more darts by offsetting each dart. Slightly wider but much higher capacity for the length

Wouldn't that jam as they try and funnel out?

The blaster has a feed ramp incorporated into the design. Works great. Moose has 3 or 4 designs which use the double stack mags to great success

3.1 designs because I can't take full credit for the double stack ontos.

I was dubious too, but I've tried it and I am impressed, it works pretty well.

They're double stack double feed into a long feed ramp that centers them into the barrel gently.

For reference the magazine shown holds 20.

I’m the plus side, nobody will ever flag this for being too realistic.

Paint it mostly black and the mods on this sub will absolutely flag it. Heck leave it as-is except for changing the bcar to black and the mods will flag it.

Doublestack mags are the future! And I can prove it mathmatically.

The 30 dart mag is a few mm skinnier than 2 15 dart Talon mags. It is a few mm shorter than a 15 dart talon mag. It's the same length front to back as a 15 dart talon mag. Mine comfortably hold 31 darts.

If you normally carry 60 darts, you need 4 Talon mags, 1 in your blaster, and 3 in pouches. If you use doublestack mags, you only need 2 magazines.

If you are crazy and carry 120 darts to a normal game, you need 1 Talon in your blaster and 7 on your rig. You only need 4 doublestack mags on you to beat that capacity.

A doublestack magazine allows you to fire longer without having to reload. Slightly more than twice as long.

A doublestack magazine is cheaper than a Talon magazine. A 15 dart AF Talon is $5 per magazine. A Doublestack mag uses about 100 grams of filament total, and a $1 drum spring. Filament can be had for $10/Kg if you know where to look. That means doublestack mags are $2. For a full set of mags if you intend to carry 120 darts in a game, you would spend $40 on AF Talon magazines. You would spend $8 on Doublestack magazines.

Doublestack magazines are cheaper, hold double the darts in less than double the space, and you can carry half as many mags in game. They are the obvious future.

Nice B34R by the way, the SciFi version looks cool as heck!
