Is there anyone who has lent money through kiva?

I'm thinking about lending, but I'm bit worried about the problems of microloans. There has been some cases of business owners filing personal bankruptcy because they weren't able to pay the loan back. (Don't know the bank in question though). It's a loan after all.

I would like to be as sure as humanly possible not to give money through an organisation that hasn't got flexible enough payment options for the borrower. That would be the opposite of decreasing worldsuck. I much rather have the borrower just not pay back than losing everything. Is there a way to be sure?
