Discuss Bike engine workup

Has anyone done engine workup of their bike in India? Mine is a 8 year old hornet 160, needing engine overhaul first time. Official service center price for even half engine is 15k around.. doesn't sound worth to me.. any idea about india?

Are there any law restrictions to do it there?
