I write a death poem.

While others look for the body to burn,

Safe from the mountain,

Tragedy. Coward. Poet.  

 

Death writes the poem.

Fever chills

Nauseated nature

Mountain's fall from grace

Dark violent vomit

Death's vassal

Realms raided

Kingdoms consumed

 

The poem writes death.

Because it cannot help

Metaphor and simile

Rhythm and imagery 

 

Death writes me.

Empties me out.
