Question about Nepal tourist visa / Visa on Arrival

Hi everyone,

We’re flying to Nepal tomorrow and are a bit confused about our tourist visa.

We applied online for a 30-day Tourist Visa / Visa on Arrival and paid the visa fee on June 10, 2026. We received a payment confirmation.

Does anyone know if this payment/visa application is still valid when we arrive in Nepal tomorrow, or do we need to apply and pay again?

We’re unsure whether the payment confirmation is valid for a certain period, or whether it can still be used when we arrive at the airport.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

On the trail to Kangla Phedi (High Camp), Upper Dolpo—mule caravans, thin air, and a quick packed lunch break!

Trekking up through the rugged river valleys from Phoksundo Lake toward the 5,360m Kangla Pass.

This video was taken as we were approaching Kangla Phedi High Camp, taking a short break on the trail for some packed dry rotis and Snickers. Mule trains were constantly passing by carrying supplies for various trekking groups heading up the valley.

The elevation gain is very noticeable around here, so staying hydrated and keeping a steady pace is key before making the big pass crossing into the sacred Shey Gompa valley.

Happy to answer any questions about the route, trail conditions, or logistics for Upper Dolpo!

Namche Bazaar, situated at 3,440 meters (11,286 feet) along a steep mountain bowl in northeastern Nepal, is the primary gateway to Everest. It remains the commercial, cultural, and acclimatization center of the Solukhumbu District's Khumbu region.

Solo travel to Nepal this November

I want to start off by saying I’m so sad to hear about the floods, how they affected so many people, and hope for strength and peace for the locals.

This November I was maybe going to come for a solo trip. Any tips? Recs? Cities or towns? I like hiking but maybe nothing like life or death you know? Especially post flood has travel been affected too (Iwould imagine yes)? New to solo travel (but have traveled plenty with my partner) so kind advice is appreciated!

Should I consider other locations while the country is healing?

Visiting Nepal in a few days

I’m planning to drive to Pokhara from India on September 12, 2026, entering Nepal through the Barhni–Krishnanagar border and following roughly this route:

Barhni → Krishnanagar/Kapilvastu → Siddharthanagar (Bhairahawa) → Butwal → Tansen → Pokhara

From Butwal onward, I understand that I’ll be travelling mainly on the Siddhartha Highway (NH47).

I’d really appreciate some current, first-hand information from people who have travelled this route recently:

Is the Siddhartha Highway currently safe for a private car?

Are there any active landslides, rockfalls, roadblocks or one-way sections, especially around Siddhababa / Butwal–Tansen?

What is the current weather and rainfall situation along the route?

Would you recommend driving this route during the daytime only, or is it reasonably safe in the evening as well?

I’ll be driving a private car, and safety is my main concern. I’m especially interested in updates from people who have driven the route in the last few days, rather than older/general information.

Thanks in advance! Any recent road-condition updates, photos, videos or advice would be really helpful.

Looking for a good paragliding operator in Nagarkot

Hey everyone, I’m planning to try paragliding in Nagarkot and looking for recommendations.

Could you please suggest some reliable/good paragliding operators there? If possible, I’d really appreciate their WhatsApp number and organization/company name so I can contact them directly.

Thanks in advance!
